What’s the most weight you have had in your truck? I had to help my brother-in-law carry 50 bags of cement that weighed 2,000 pounds. The mud flaps were dragging but it seamed to handle the weight pretty good it was only 30 miles at 55 mph.

In my '03 I have done:

1600# of retaining wall blocks (based off weight per block and number of blocks, and this was neglecting the 3 bags of sand I had in the bed)

Then I put in more dand for another project and bottomed the suspension, I am guessing 2800-3000#... as it felt 10# heavier than the retining wall blocks...

All i have added is the roadmaster active suspension...

3000lbs+ worth of boat motor and trailer across flat S. Florida. at around 60mph. Got 14mpg. Most in the bed was 2000lbs of quick dry. That was just across town though.

I just hauled 20 70-lb bags of sand (1,400 lbs total) in my 02 QC last week. She squatted pretty good. Would definitely want to get the Roadmaster Active Suspension if doing that very often. Hauled it just fine though.

2 tons of lime with a 25 foot trailer. Pulled it 15 miles to our farm. Towed the load of lime with no problem. Intend to tow 5610 Ford tractor with it in the future. Just to the farm and back. Tractor and trailer weighs over 12,000 lbs. I have added a shift kit and trans cooler to ptotect the transmission.

Towed a 78 ford extra cab F-150 with a 429 on a heavy duty car hauler, do not know the weight but it handed it well. Enough power but my Dakota does not have enough weight to do that very often. I also had trailer brakes, wouldn't try that with out.

Haven't had the balls to put much in the bed of the Dakota, but accidently put 2900 lbs of gravel in my 90 Mazda one time. Didn't break anything!

right now i have a 1993 318 at 4x4, but my last dakota was a 2wd 5spd v6 1991. when i had that v6, i had to go get some cow crap for my father. so i went to this farm, and the guy had a backhoe with a big bucket, and i told him to fill it up. well i didnt know the crap was wet. so he drops one bucket full in the bed from like 10 feet up. my dodge slammed straight into the mud. the bushings were already mashed together. so hes like "your all set". im like hell no throw 2 more on. i must have had at least #3000 of $h!t in the back because when i went down the road my front tires barely had almost no traction on dry pavement. i couldnt steer for anything. plus my back brakes didnt work so you can imagine how good it stopped. i looked at the leafs when it was over, and i bent them backwards where they meet the frame. damn.

A trailer with a 1969 Mustang fastback, v8 car AND a 429 with a c6 tranny in the bed of an extended cab, total weight was over 2 tons on the trailer, and another 1000 in the bed, for a tally of 5000 pounds!!
club cab R/T, from nothern Indian to Georgia through the foot hills of Tennesee, down I 75. I hit 90-100 at some points going down the hills, and wore the NEW brakes out!
In my reg cab R/T, a trailer and a 1965 Mustang v8 (don't ask how I got two classic Mustangs stored 1000 miles in either direction from where I live!) car from Miami the Northern GA total trailer weight was 3800. hit 115 rev limiter a few times on flat lands ! yeah, it was stupid, but I did it anyway. at least I didn't destroy my brakes this time...
rear axle was bottomed out on both trips! I'm thinking of air bags before I tow another trailer!

I've mentioned it before. I accidentally loaded 25 or so 80# bags of quick mix in my bed. ALL from the axle back to the tail gate so you know that sh*t wasn't loaded properly! But i wanted to load and unload it easily. I only went 10 miles with it and it did sag.

You wont be doing THAT with a Ridgeline :)

I blew my truck up before having a chance to tow anything with it, but in a 94 caravan we have pulled a 2 ton boat loaded with roughly 1000lbs of random sht (just bought a new cottage) with a jet ski in the back of the van and about 500 lbs of lumber stacked on the roof... Asuming the jet ski weights about 800 lbs thats around 6300lbs. The suspension wasnt completely bottomed out, but damn near every bump it bottomed out. we went 180 miles and had no problems.

so what im trying to say is simple: tow till you break something, then replace it with something better. :D
