You can do it...just gotta put your effort into it. Keep in mind Im making 150 dollars a week or so. I have no truck payment, Pay my insurance, gas, etc... and still have a good amount saved for schooling which I will be leaving to in 2 weeks. Than Im gonna get a job there!

Im just about to pull the intake and heads. There was a lot of stuff to move out of the way. The blower took most of the time, and the damn heater hoses were rotted on.

Damn dude!

So you THINK it blew the gasket just warming up in your driveway?

Or was the damage done the last time you drove it???

I think I blew it the night before. It wasnt near as bad as rammers truck but it was just leaking not really blown. You can see any breaks in the head gasket. I was beating on it pretty heavily the night before and remember smelling something on the way back from town so thats probally when it happened.

I got the engine apart today. Took about 4 hours doing it myself and about another 30 min explaining to my mom what a head gasket was. Everything went smoothly. I went ahead and got new head bolts just to be safe. My pistons have some carbon build up but not bad.

Lets see if the html is working today:

Also it should be burning any oil any more like it was before since I got the M1, I was going to switch out the manifold this week but since this happened Im doing it all at once. That probally why everything is black.

OMG yeah. Sucking in the oil probably doesn't help anything. Although it doesn't suck oil when you are on the throttle. But you can see the excess carbon from it sucking it in :p

The only GOOD THING about Rammer blowing his, was that I was rolling the camera when it happened! CAUGHT ON TAPE! :p

It is funny to myself just to watch back at the videos of us going "WTF"??? as we at first think it's a simple oil line leak!

What do you think I should use to clean off the carbon before I put it back together? I was thinking about using a copper scothbrite pad. You think that would be fine to use?

i usually use a rasor blade to get almost all of everything off then i use a sand paper thats very vine grit. us a/c guys and maybe plumbers know it as sanding cloth. we get in a roll and is about 2" wide. works good with elbow grease.

yeah im makin aobut 150 a week with school in the way now too. but i just got some tickets so now i need to spend about 400 on an atterney and fines. and thne ive been tryin to save to fix my jeep all summer. im tryin to find someone to install the 456 gears and rear locker for about 500 bucks. then on top of it i do have a truck payment. i just got this thing in july soooo it will be another year b4 i get it paid off. im not in the position to be dumpin money into my daily driver right now. but once winter comes and its all snowy ill be drivin the jeep almost full time. soo that would prolly be the best time to tear it down.

Just look at Rammer...

There is nothing abnormal about that amount of carbon build-up. I would not worry about cleaning it off. Instead of manually cleaning the carbon off, just run the thing at high loads and the heat will burn it off. A good freeway drive is usually enough to keep carbon under control.

You KNOW women! They will still think they are going to CHANGE us!!!

You just have to be tough so they can't!!!

Every time my woman talks smack about my Duster in the Garage laying in pieces...

I just remind her of the 13 different PURSES in the closet. Or her SHOES! Don't even get me started with her SHOES!!!

looks like you should also replace your timing cover gasket. looks like it is seeping at the left coolant passage. It would be a good time to replace it.
