I was just wondering what all of yalls top speed is beacuse i was told by some guy that he maxed out at 135mph in a 3.9. ,
I have burried the needle on my kota but it was on a down hill, and then when the road was flat it was like 118 almost 120.

I have a 2000 V6 QC 4x4 and I have no idea what my top speed is, nor do i want to find out! The fastest I've ever gone was 110 and it was freaky! The truck felt like it was gonna leave the road and fly. I'm just suprized it would go that fast. I had to work it though cuz it wants to limit the rpm's to 3000 @ 100mph, this is where I think most Dak's are regulated, so I'm sure they are fast if this is removed and you have a 4x2!

I hit 125 on a straight section of highway on my way home from school... truck was still pullin' but the road started to turn... really scary at that speed... truck feels really loose.

really QC 4x4 110? how long did it take u to get there?? I was trying the other day and all I could manage was ~107 and I have a CC. It took a while too...I guess It would have gone 110 with some more room but it took quite a while to get there and I had to turn OD off. Felt pretty stable though. I think it would take me like 2 or 3 miles to get to 110of course my weight plus my brothers weight is like 450 lbs so that must slow us a bit

All daks regarless of the engine are computer limited to around 100-110Mph depending on your geering. Theres no way that I'm aware of to get this changed. I've had a 98 R/T higher. I let off at 200Kmph / 125 Mph knowing something wrong. 2 starts later the computer needed replacing. My 97 3.9 with different mods have not resulted in higher top speed it just gets you there quicker.

My top speed is 122. That was with the bed full of personal items while helping my friend move to Tennessee. It was packed up to the roof level and the rear wheels were only about an inch and a half from to top of the wheel wells. Also, on that tank I only got 8mpg. :-(

I've only managed to get around 110, but I think it is me., not the truck. I get a little freaked at that speed.
I got blown away by a Lightning the other day on the higway, but I had a dishwasher in the back :)

Damn limiter kicks in on mine at about 117.
2001 RC 4.7 5sp 9.25" 3.92 LSD
Ported 68mm throttle body, IAT adjuster, 3" flowmaster cat back, TPS @ .76V, 4" cold air, Roadmaster active suspention, Removed Third cat. Electric fan Convertion, HO cams installed.
Working on adjustable fuel pressure with return.

I have a 1998 4wd, club cab with v6. With it floor for many miles driving across iowa, I couldn't get it past 96mph. It was a very windy day but still I expected more. By the way, that was three years ago when it was nearly new.

I can get mine up to about 115
by WOT from 0mph - 115 mph.
but if i gun it up around 80mph
it cuts off at 100 at 3k rpm's
i wonder what would happen if
you just left the OD off?

I had mine up to 175km/h, and I was happy. The next week, pedal to the floor again, only went 160. Later I realized, I had quite the head wind when doing the 160. Man, my truck doesn't take long to get there either... I really think I got a strong one.

I seem to remember it taching out third at exactly 100MPH then from there OVerdrive brings it up another 22mph

My speedo only registers 85, so I'm not sure how fast I am going. I have burried the needle but I don't think I was over 100mph, on a country back road at night that is fast enough though. Plus when ever I run it that hard it smells bad afterwards, so I don't try to push it to much.
P.S.
I think if you unhook your anti-lock braking system the comp won't know how fast you are going. A guy I know did that to his S-10, but I don't recomend it because he ended up totaling my best friends Sentra while I was riding with my best friend, because his brakes locked up. He he got rid of the S-10 after that, now he has a Dakota R/T(go figure).

It doesn't take (too) long to get to 110 in my QC 4x4 but I have a 3.55 rear end dont know if that makes a difference. It took about 1 mi but i was already going 50-60. I think a V8 would be nice but I love my truck and cant complain!

I have a 2002 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab and i cant get it over 96 mph,what can i do to make it do faster. I tryed the overdrive off at 80mph and it guns to 95 but i cant go any faster. What can i do to the truck without messing with the engine.

Oh yeah, they're a pretty good mod too. Idle is smoother, more oomph in the mid-range.

Ive got a 96 3.9 and the fastest ive ever gotten it was around 110. I could have gone faster but was entering a turn and i was passin cars at night that were going like 65.
The truck felt really good though at that speed and didnt feeling going anywhere. One thing i did have to do was play with the o/d to get it up there. Once I hit 105 to 110 its slow.
I would say though that it did feel like it wanted to go further. I would be guessing that I would have been able to get it up around 115 or 120. Thats crazy fast though around here. Everyone drives like sh*t and never look before they pass.

I definately see the difference than the stock Champ. plugs.
I did put them in, with help from my "mod" mechanic, we each did a side... My #5 was so torqued in I was sitting on the truck, and had a stinger in my left shoulder for a few days...
Other than that, JUST GREAT!!!

It's not the top speed that counts, so much as how long you take getting there ;0)
I mean, if you can do 135mph top speed, but are only doing 85 at the end of the 1/4... well, I'd rather have a 110mph top speed and be doing 100 at the end of the 1/4! Just pulling those numbers from the air, folks.

I hit 135 in my sport with a 3.9. Its a 5-speed and i drafted off my friends lightning. If i dont have anyone to follow close i can do about 120-125. then the wind is too much for the truck to go any faster.

well i got a few things to do to my 90p dakota cuz right now it will only do about 90, yeah there is a a few things wrong with it but im slowly getting them fixed.
i got a 1981 250 custom 12 passenger van with a 318 going 130 about a month ago, so those 318 are capable of a little more than what they are limited to :-P
(keep in mind 1981, rev limiter, whats that?)
but it is a pile of crap that goes really fast and accels SLOW but i love to race peopel on 10 mile strips and blow by them doing about 125/130 when they are stuck being limited at 110
LOL
it takes a littlw while to catch them but its always funny to see the looks on their faces
