Okay well i know this one is dead but i need to bring it back to life. Okay will the goverenor pressure solenoid and transducer fix my surging problem in over drive... i have already changed my tps...it didn't fix it..i rerouted my plugs and that got rid of some of the surging...but now i feel a vibration when the rpms surge...so i'm wondering if changing the sensor and transducer will work....

Would any of you happen to be able to tell me where to locate the Speed Output Sensor on a 92 Dak Sport 2wd? My truck slips between 2&3 when starting out cold and I think this may be what's causing the problem. Thanks in advance!

I had this happen to my 1997 Plymouth Prowler. The factory sensor P/N are

Input: 04800878
Output: 04800879

Napa sells the same part for half the cost. The P/N are:

TSS100
TSS200

Most of the serious Prowler guys carry extra ones in the glove box so they do not get stuck in "limp mode" (2nd gear) in the middle of no where.

I'm far from an auto tranny guy, but I had the same issue with my 92 Dakota automatic. You could manually shift it down to first and it was fine, but it would start off in second in automatic. After talking to the tranny guy at the local Dodge dealer, he told me it was a bad governor on the rear tailshaft. He gave me the manual for the trans and I tore into it myself, and he was right- the governor had come apart. New governor and lots of sweating that I put it all back together right, and it worked fine.

Wasn't that the 42RE transmission. I would like to know if the 44RE came mated to a V6?
