I have two inch daystar spacers on my truck, but they really lift the front 3inches. I didn't replace my shocks the ride was stiff for about the first three weeks but now it's not any worse than stock.

1kewldak- if I remeber correctly there is a spot on the website that says dakota but when you click on it it goes to the spacer for 1500-3500 ram.

now that you point it out the ram 4x4's use coil springs I wonder if you could use ram or ram 4x4 springs to get some extra height.

ok i just got off the phone with a guy from product infomation that works at daystar and he stated "yes the 2wd ram coil spacer will work with the dakota, because it's basicly the same suspenion. the 2" may require a modified control arm. the 2 1/2" coil spacer will require a modified control arm." if thats the case i'm woundering if that means that the 2wd ram front suspenion would bolt up to the 2wd dakota, and if that's the case we're looking at 6 1/2" of lift from fabtech. hmmm?? wouldn't that be nice.

ok i got a quote from a website (www.goferitoffroad.com) for a 2" coil spacer for a dodge dakota 2wd / ram 1500-3500 2wd (part number KC09100) from daystar for $82 and with s/h the lady stated it was going to be around $100, if that. i think that's pretty good considering that daystar's website states MSRP is $139.91.

ok njquad2by i stand corrected here is the right info that your looking for
Dakota 2WD 1986 1996 Coil Spring Spacers 2 1/2”” Front (Pair) part # KC09100
Dodge Ram 1500-3500 2WD 1994 2001 Coil Spring Spacers 2 1/2”” Front (Pair) part # KC09100
Dodge Ram 1500-3500 4WD 1994 2001 Coil Spring Spacers 2”” Front (3 Studs Mount In Place of Stock Isolator) (Pair) part # KC09101
i hope that this clears thing up. i do apologize for the misunderstanding. but remeber what the product infomation guy said if you go with the 2 1/5" spacer your going to need a modfied control arm.

I thought they had a 1 1/2 inch and a 2 inch. I have heard the 2 inch actually gives about 2 1/2 inches of lift. Thats what I think conig has. part # KC09100. If I need a control arm with the 2 inch, I'll settle for the 1 1/2.
Thanks

I just got the idea from reading this that we may be able to get a little more lift from the spacers than from the springs(without replacing a-arms). For those of us who don't want to but the A-arms this is interesting.
Conig, why do you think you got 3" of lift from the spacers? I wish there was someway we could know for sure. I thought that 3" is supposed to put you out of alignment specs and thus require the a-arms.

Conig-
I just saw the pictures of your truck. You must be right about getting more than 2" from the spacer because there is another truck I checked out that has the 2" coils and it looks level. Yours looks +1" higher in the front. And you say you had it aligned without any problems? That is crazy.

I had a set of the 2" daystar coil spacers installed in my 97 2wd dakota, and like mentioned above i somehow raised the front of my truck 3". I had a shop install them for me so I can't vouch for any installation procedures, but I gained an inch more than expected. When I had the truck aligned I was told I was on the limit for alignment, any higher and I would need new control arms. The front of my truck was actually higher than the rear! To correct this I had to install extended rear shackles. Now my rear is about 1/4-1/2" lower than the front, go figure!

Christopher, so far I have not had any problems with my lift, save one. I only have 1/2" of down travel in my suspension now. When I am driving down the road and hit a dip or pothole I can hear a dull thud when my upper bumpstops bottom out. Hasn't caused any problems that I am aware of, just another noise. The shop I took it to charged me $105 to install the coils. I didn't think that was too bad considering that they had to practically disassemble the entire front end. Oh, I had to take it to another shop to get it aligned at $40. The rear shackles I did my self. The truck "looks" level so I'm happy, except now my rear will be sagged all winter due to sandbags in the back, oh well.

I beleive you can, not sure, but I think you can. If memory serves me right, that is what tallquad did with his truck. If you do a search of this sight and look for tallquad-you should be able to find a link to his homepage.(he's got a 2wd quad cab dakota with 8" of lift I believe) See if that answers any of your questions.

yes you can use the 2inch coil spacers with a body lift. once my tires wear out I will be doing that and getting 33's.

yesterday I installed a set of roughcountry add-a-leaf's and now my truck sites perfectly level. 8.5inches of gap between the same spot on the tire to the bottlm of my fender flares.

Conig, is your truck a two wheeler? If so, how much did the add-a-leaf's set you back if you don't mind my asking? Are your leaf springs underneath your axle or over? Mine are under my axle and I had thought that adding an extra leaf would lower my truck. Thanks.

Thanks

unfortunately I don't remember the part numbers for either of them.

the spacers for the springs I ordered 2inch dodge1500-3500 2wd from jc whitney dodge catalogue.

the rough country add a leafs I ordered from jc-whitney as well they were 63.99 includeing 3day shipping.

my truck is 2wd and the leaves are under the axle I didn't think they would lift it either but was assured they would, so I gave them a try.

I got the ones from rough country as I could not find a set of just fabtech add a leafs. could only find the complete kit.
