I have a 2wd lift Dak and love it. Just like Tallquad, I live in the desert also so I'm not too worried about snow. But I have taken it to the mountains to play many times and after putting about 150Lbs of weight in the back, my 2wd did a better job of staying on the road than the Toyota 4x4's were doing. But going back to what Hawk said, the Toyota's were kids. The driver has a lot to do with it.

Wouldn't want any other!

njquad2by how in the world did you get the spacers in without the spring compressor? I've got the spacers and all the jacks/stands and wrenches, got one wheel up and found that the spring compressor I had rented was stripped and wouldn't work. Tried forever to figger out how to get the spring out. Wound up putting the shock back in and was gonna just buy a spring compressor next time I get a free weekend.

Thanks!

I have a 95 dakota 2wd that i want to lift real bad. It is a sport and the only feature about it right now that benefits me is the v-8, but i don't have the clearance or stiffness in my suspension to pull trailers or anything. I would like to put on at least 5in on this low street suspension, but haven't found a good way to do it yet. Do any of you guys have any tips or tricks on how to go about jacking this potentially very useful truck up?

Hey Chaximus, Could you have fit those 31's with just the body lift, without the fabtech and shackles and wheel spacers? Nice truck by the way.

if all you have is a little bit of money than there is nothing wrong with raising a 2wd. While i would prefer a 4x4 i have no choice. im puttin a 4 inch body lift and 35 inch all terrains on my V6 2wd chevy... and all for 800 bucks. including the black rims. for me its alot about looks but i can still have fun with this truck even though its only a V6 2wd

I just lifted my 97 CC. I did the work myself which probably saved me atleast $800. I bought the Fabtech 3" suspesion lift for $800 shipped. I already had rims and tires, but those cost about another $800 when I got them. I bought AR767 15" rims for like $60/pc and my goodyears were about $130/pc. I needed wheel spacers which are $135. I couldnt have it aligned properly unless I replaced the lower ball joints. another $130. I would like to eventually get the 3" body lift which sells for less than $200. if you do the work yourself you'll save alot of money and still get all this under your budget.

to save money on lifting your truck, go to the neerest auto swap meet when it comes to town, pick up some 31's, order a 2 inch body lift kit from truckperformance.com, find some 2 inch coil spring spacers, and you will be set for less than 400 dolars. i just lifted my 88 dakota sport 2wd and i scored some great deals at the swap meets.
