good lord, im 20 and rather immature, but some of these people are just ridiculous. wah wah wah...lightning this wah wah wah lightning that....yes they are the mark to beat for dakotas...camaros and gt's dont like to have their butts handed to them by a TRUCK. syclones and typhoons are FASST...dont get me wrong. but most of the guys that have them WONT race them..its pathetic..ill race you on a moped just to get the action going on the street on a saturday night....all the 'mighty s10' comments, just take em to a chebby board. blah blah 'dumped a 350 blah blah'...yea...they are incredibly fast, but thats the equivalent of me giving my r/t to gale banks and talking smack afterward. you need to think, a small block chebby with 4.10's and a built 4 speed??? street legal or not, thats built for the strip. in my FULLY STREETABLE DAILY DRIVER DAK, ill race you, and get out and wave to you when you finally cross the finish line in the spring. i dont want to anger anyone, but this is out of hand. you dont see the guy running the mopar pro-street 7 second truck in here talking trash..this is mostly daily drivers and modded trucks.
in closing, if you DO want to step up to me, feel free. however as i hate to admit it, if you do sneak by me in the 1/4, i know of an r/t from around here that WILL hand you your truck. so be warned.

350 S-10's are'nt necessarily strip only.My brother has a daily driver Mustang that ran a 12.7 while spinning halfway down the track with Mickey Thompson E/T Streets.What's that R/T running.Time slips and mods.

The one I saw with the LS1 wasn't a drag truck at all. It was a fully functional 4x4 truck and looked stock from the outside except for him replacing the S-10 badging with LS1 badging. And I have seen a few older s10s with 350s that are all street.

I know a kid with an R/T running 12.84 and it's a driver and the guy who just set the 1/4 record in the US for an R/T at 10.17@131??? also drove his truck to and from the track.

Streetable?? Guess you can say it's streetable. I use the V-8 S-10 to tow my 1700# boat, 100+ miles to the lake all the time. Also used it 5-6 years as a daily driver. Didn't mean to pee in anyone's Cheerios, but it's possible to build a truck that'll haul a**, get the groceries and still serve as a truck.


Yeah, I have been spanked at the strip before. Everyone tearing up the 1/4 mile loses, it's called racing. Dosen't sound like afi360 has ever lost a race though???? Ever raced before? Only way to tell who will be staring at taillights is to take it to the track and let the trucks do the talking. Gum flappin doesn't win races!

A friend of mine with a early 90s S-10 just had his truck and tranny go to sh1t. His stepdad is a born mechanic and was able to dump a 350 4spd in there for him. He bought the parts and all. Put a ratchet in. Has a nice lopy idle, sounds great. It's pretty funny looking at this old 4x4 and hearing it sound like a Camaro. Only problem is he gets sideways on clear streets sometimes. When the snow comes he wont be able to drive it at all.

Streetable. Not very. It actually takes some considerable effort to drive that thing.

1700 pounds? lol, the WRX's tow rating is 2000.

S-10s are still ugly pos looking vehicles, simple as that. It doesn't matter what you put in there. We still think you're ugly. Welcome to a D-A-K-O-T-A site.

Didn't come to this site to yank your guys chain. I own a 00 Dak and the S-10. Yeah the S-10's are ugly, that's why I got a Dakota. Not to mention that Dak is more relaible and gets better gas mileage than the V-8 S-10.

Put oversized swaybars and good shocks on a s-10 and these trucks realy handle great. Bad drivers make them unstreetable. Any truck with power is going to loose it's rear end if not driven properly.

It's just a whole lot easier to push a 2800# S-10 down a drag strip than a 3800# Dakota.I would rather be butt ugly and fast at the drag strip than cute and slooooow. People don't like getting beat by a pos looking S-10, but it happens.

Hey don't get me wrong, I love the Dak and I am not saying that S-10's are superior, because they are not. H*ll, I have only driven the S-10 6-5 times since I bought the Dak 6 months ago.

But, he still got an ass-truck. There are always things faster and I can not win them all, I've come to that reality. People choose vehicles for their own reasons. If someone buys an abomination of a truck like the s10, then yey for them they found something that fits.

I know it's a dodge site,But just looking through I've got a s-10 with a 355 in it and it's not a good daily driver.put a good size cam in it and it rocks back and fourth and i only get 4 miles to the gallon.

Can't please everyone. I like both my S-10 and Dak for different reasons. It's amazing, the first time anyone called my S-10 a POS or commented on it negatively was on this site.

Should I comment on your truck without seeing it or riding in it?

Again, why should I care about just going fast? I would NOT have bought a brand new Dodge Dakota if that's all I cared about.

I will tell you that my 2002 is the fastest stock 2002 vehicle in comparison of price and affordable insurance. That's one reason I got it. It was a perfect match for me. Me.

Why do you take such offence to me saying S10s are ugly worthelss POSs. Get over it. It's my opinion and will stay that way, no matter how much you want to start a flame war. It's pretty pathetic you now have to resort to put downs.

I never said I would beat your truck. If you happened to race me on the street, and win. Woohoo for you, now I go back to work or school and continue my day.

hahaha he hit it right on the head there, cuz im having that debate with myself right now....
mod the r/t heavily in the spring for $5000 or by a muffstang for $1500 and chunk a blower on it for the same price...the r/t will run maybe a 12.9 with n20, the crapstang will run a 12.1?? with just the blower (correct me, im sure thats wrong, 90 notchback with a #8 vortech intercooled)

decisions decisions...
by the way...i only run a 14.5, so im not talking a whole lot of crap...1/2 of you can beat me, 1/2 of you cant...so what...what fun is racing if you NEVER lose?? you have to appreciate defeat to appreciate victory.
