When I went to the store today i picked up a truck magazine to read and it had the SRT-10 ram in there and said it should be around $27,000! Could that be right? Thats extremly low if you ask me, but Im not going to complain if its true. They sure will sell a lot of those if there 27,000.

New Ram SRT-10 for $27K? It'll never happen. We'll be lucky if they come in under $40K. They will be in such great demand that dealers will add on their special "market value" line item. People were paying almost $30K for PT Cruisers when they first came out! There will be absolutely no incentive for the dealers to work with people on the price at all. Supply and demand will set the final prices. My guess is that they end up going for almost $50K when they first hit the market. You guys think I'm wrong? Just wait till they hit the showrooms...

That's my story and I'm sticking to it! ;>)

All the mags i have read and articles say they want to keep it at the same price you would pay for a 360 ext cab full size witht he works, so under 40k, the 27k thing may be stripped of everything cept the motor. They will be putting prolly at around 50k when they first hit, then they will drop down to around 35-40k
i hope anyway
i want to see these babies around, more than you see lightnings, ive seen about 5 lightnings In small town wisconsin areas, and about 3 Harley edition f-150s

I agree with Dunner. That truck won't be less than, at least, $35K. The reason why they keep saying the price will be so low is to keep people from buying another truck, such as the Lightning, before the SRT is ready. Is the same principle, only in reverse of what Chevy and Ford tried to pull by spreading the rumor that the Hemi engine won't reach production for 2 years. I know, it's a "conspiracy theory", but if you think about it, it not only makes sence, but it is also effective and easy to put in place.
Ok, I went far enough on that thin limb....

$50,000..no way! I could go to a Chevy dealer and buy a brand new Z06 for that. I love dodge trucks but who would pay $50,000 when you can get a Z06 for the same price. Also and one who paid $30,000 for a PT cruiser I feel sorry for them.

You'd be amazed how much people will pay for stuff they think they must have.

Look at the MILLIONS of people who pay outrageous prices for the 'must have' toy each Christmas. Cabbage Patch Kids, Furbys, PS2's, X-Box, etc...

There are too many 'lots of money, no brains' people for the SRT-10 to be affordable for its first few years of production. Look how long it took vehicles like the Viper to come back to a reasonable price.

well just the fact that your ram has a viper motor, and does 0-60 in 5 secs means alot to some and they would be glad to pay 50k

and it depends on where you live but i see all kinds of vipers in pennsylvania, so i guess they are reasonably priced, they look and perform well worth thier huge price tag.

Just for all your information Dave Smith motors sell EVERy new car and truck for about $300 over invoice, and you get all rebates and incentives. This included the PT and even their allowcation of prowlers and vipers. The SRT Ram will be no exception and Dodge plans to build as many as they get orders for, so they will not be limited to a specific number. Look them up at www.usaautosales.com I bet they are already getting deposits for this truck, and at $300 over invoice, I bet under $30,000 is possible for this truck.

Nice truck. Wonder how much insurance would cost on that? And 24" tires. And a tuneup. And peace of mind, wondering if someone was going to try and jack it out from under me every time I drove it, or smash into it with their minivan...naw, I think I'll keep the Dak.

For those of you who think that dodge will sell that bad ass for less then 50k, keep dreaming.
just take a minute and think about it, if some of you know how! engine, trans, wheels+tires, and suspension upgrades. we are talking over 20k easy. And factor in how much the dealers are going to mark them up, and you have 50k if not more easy. When the viper first came out is a perfect example. That year one sold for $185,000 at the peble beach auction. And just think, the msrp was $54,695. And by the way hersbird, there is no way a dealer is going to be stupid enough, or brain dead enough to sell that truck for 300 over invoice, or offer a rebate. This is a spacial vehicle, low #s, it's not a friggin neon dope.

If this truck retails for under $34,000. I will buy one for a hobby truck. You know, a dad and son take to the speedway every weekend thing. If more than $34,000, people had better have good alarms, cause me and son may be doing a midnight engine swap in the garage. j/k ;)

"Supply and demand will set the final prices."

As it should.

shiftrider, half -- easily more -- of the Dodges in Montana are from Dave Smith. Everytime I drive to Spokane I see several vehicles with that bright neon pink DAVE SMITH plate driving the other direction. My question is, how can you not know about Dave Smith. Fuk, they advertise in our local papers!

"Dodge plans to build as many as they get orders for"

That would make for an unlimited supply. If this is true, why would the prices increase like you think they would?

Dave Smith sold all of thier PT's at $300 over invoice, all of their Prowlers, all of their Vipers so why not the SRT Ram? There is going to be production to match demand, that's just the way Dodge always works, they are not like Honda or Toyota who limit supply to keep demand high, Dodge just keeps the lines running, extra shifts if it needs to. I don't know what the final price will be on the SRT but I'm sure Dave Smith will sell them for just over invoice and well under MSRP. One thing though I bet Dave Smith already has a waiting list on the SRT Ram so if you want one anytime soon from them you better get on it!
