You might not make 420hp, those are just estimates...we will have have some actual numbers once testing is completed.

Shorten the life of your motor? that depends on how you drive it...

Be sure and check the website occassionally for updates...

No, they work fine on manuals. The twin turbo is coming out for the R/T and it's ONLY an automatic.

Although, with a manual, how much does the turbo spin down/slow down in between shifts?

Alright... This turbo thing sounds awsome. I was saving for a Paxton SC, so now I'll just have to get the turbo instead.
Big Question:
Is the kit going to be smog legal? I live in California (I know, it sucks when it comes to modifying cars) and I need to know if I can install the kit and drive it legally.

Actually 3rd gear is the squirreliest - it hardly dances at all in 4th.

OK, I havent been able to sleep since you started talking about the 4.7 turbo kit. I would like to know if the kit wil include a turbo timer and boost controler. Also, would ported heads and the upcoming new cams enhance the turbo upgrade considerably. BWT, you guys are my heroes.

bludak2 - no, our kits will not include a turbo timer or electronic boost controller, but you will be able to add those on with no problem.

Ported heads or R/T head would bring some improvement in performance... a camshaft change may help, but long-duration, high-overlap cams will creat a large amount of reversion. Low-duration, low-overlap cams are better for turbo charged engines. (Stock cams will work great with turbos)

Horbedarn - yes, it will fit on a 4.7L with air-conditioning.

sak77576 - in comparison to nitrous, you won't have to refill the bottle, the turbo boost is adjustable(on the fly), and boost comes in a little more gradually than nitrous.

is there any chance the price will come down at all(i know its not a bad price but I really doubt I can afford it)

and how come everone says turbos and supers add the same amount and then the estimates of hp gain on turbo is so much higher

I know for a fact that any kit I would manufacture would NOT be CARB legal. It wouldn't pass the visual inspection, nor would I be able to get it CARB certified. My understanding is that the application fee for CARB testing is $10,000!

I can't speak for SpeedTweaks or their kit.

You Californians know it's you own fault. There is a cure for huge government controlls, it's called VOTE REPLBLICIAN. I lived there for 5 years of my life the whole time maintaing Montana residency (military thing). The attitude of California is so noticibly different regarding big government compared to Montana. California might as well have been Russia as far as I was concerned. They had rules and laws about everything you could possibly imagine. Up here it's like, don't tell ME what I can't do, I'm telling the government what IT can't do!

Yes Montana does have a real posted speed limit again, (thanks to all the influx of Californian's no doubt!) At least its 75 on most highways and interstates. The good new is the tickets are still really low (they used to be $5, pay on the spot, no insurance report) now they are more like $20 but I haven't gotten one in 15 years. That's the other good thing, every highway patroll has about 1000 miles of highways to cover by himself every shift. You see 3 cars parked in front of the cafe and you know your good for quite a while! If you've never driven our interstates while there was no speed limits you really wouldn't understand it. The fatal crashes actually went down as they think people were staying more alert. Cruising at 90-100 MPH never seemed that bad, you would only come up on somebody ever couple of minutes and then you could back off and pass them at 10 MPH over what they were going. That is if they weren't going 90 themself. If you were cruising along at 120 in a somewhat questionable car you were getting a ticket, and not the $5 kind. The the most nerve racking thing was the possibility of a deer stepping out, but we also have very clear and wide right of ways on the side. Montana is just different then California, you get out of town here and you are actually out of town for awhile, it's not like your just rolling into the next town. Xplikt lives about 2.5 hours north of me in the next major city in Montana. Between here and there there are only about 5 real towns with a combined population of maybe 10,000 people, and we live in the more populated area of the state. Out east you better get gas every couple of towns or you might run out, especially at 100 MPH in a R/T!

You know why we lost it. We had to go to it to get federal funding for our highways I believe. They didn't like our "reasonable and prudent" speed limit. Bastards!

"montana freaks me out"

You need to come up during hunting season some time. Half the pickups here have rifles in the back window.

Hersbird, it still amazes me how you get a long with most of those hippie missoulians.
