(toxic13)YUP, it is Gary Donovan's K-car. It puts ALL the others (including nitrus-injected ricers) to shame. (only ONE other car made it past 109MPH)

I'm not sure why the twin-turbo wankels were in there. I do know that they are the LOUDEST small engine I ever heard. (Of course, the 6 V8 HEMIs on the tractor pullers RULE the "loudness" world)
20,000 horsepower on wheels!!!... but that is a different sport.

It was actually called something like 'Sport Compact and Import challenge' or the like.

All 4 cyl's and all imports were allowed. Hence RX's, Supras, WRX's, Civics and Gary's beast. :) He has a kick-butt AWD Turbo Minivan too, of the Dodge variety.

If you guys want to know what a real fast turbo car is then take a ride in a Buick Grand National. Now those cars are wicked.

How much cargo can the WRX carry? I hear so many of you guys talking abou trading in your trucks. Why do you have trucks if you ain't got nothing to carry? I have a truck because I need a truck.

Besides there's nothing more fun than shi.. kicking a BMW or Audi Sedan with a truck. They must feel pretty lame when they zoom up beside my tuck becasue they hear the rumble and want to put me in my spot with their $40,000+ luxury Sedan.

Most of the time they are taking there yuppie ases back home beaten and bruised by my work truck. I can't wait untill I have boost.

I seldom put anything requireing a bed in my bed. I occasionaly pull something heavy(other cars and trucks). The reason I have a truck is for ground clearance and durable four wheel drive system. An all wheel drive car that is only inches off the ground will not get me to most of my realtives houses in the country dureing the winter time. It would however get me too and from work year round quite wheel. I live in the city so my roads are always cleared, salted and sanded! I also like 4wheeling so a truck with 4wheel drive is kind of a pre-requisite(sp). This may come as a suprise to you but trucks are trendy right know and more suburnanites and yuppies are driveing Trucks and SUV's then sport sedans. Most of these new truck owners will seldom if ever use the bed or towing capacity of their truck. They are an image vechile now. Like wise most people with 4x4 will never use the 4wheel drive system and if they do it will proably be used to get up the drive way that they were too lazy to shovel!!!!!!!

Impreza WRX has a lot of potential!

I saw a couple of you say that a WRX has no potential, what the hell are you talking about!? Subaru had to choke the engine up to make it a LEV vehicle, by using 3 catalytic converters. One of the cats are placed before the turbo! It's not very difficult to get power out of it's flat-four, 300 horsepower at the wheels is reletively attainable. Also, for handling, they come from the factory with weak Bridestone Potenzas. Upgrading the tires+wheels will yield even better handling and grip. The suspension is almsot best left alone, its a perfect balance between clearence and manueverbility.

Let me start by saying I love the WRX, my brother has one and it is really a sweet car. That said they do have potential but I think 300 HP to the wheels is possible but not that easy. The STI versions only make 275 at the motor and with awd are probably only putting 225-230 to the wheels. What I would say is that the Dakota with no turbocharger, lots of dispalcement, mild cams and compression has so much more potential at making power. 300 HP at the wheels is easy with a 360 even without NOS or boost. The WRX is so much more then a powerful car though, in real world handling it is about unsurpassed. Definately nothing can touch it at it's price.

My truck is just a RC 2WD and it worked well yesterday when we got slammed with a snow storm here. It's almost like in Montana, you have a truck or a Soobie to do anything or go anywhere in Winter. Hey Hersbird, how's Missoula looking? We got hit pretty good yesterday. All powder though; makes the snow rats happy. Of course I took my truck sledding...

What is the stock boost on a WRX BTW, I was told it's pretty low.

Our side of town got about 6 inches of medium weight snow, the other side looks like they only got 3-4 inches of real dry snow that blew around a bunch. It's only 10 degrees right now and windy so its pretty crappy outside. I'm a mailman by the way so I hate this kind of weather, not to mention it doesn't make my R/T too happy either. I had just swapped the 17's back on and took the weight out of the bed. It had just started snowing when I came home with hardly and inch down. I could just barely make it up our road so I switch back the rears and put the weight back in. I'm gonna try and keep the 17's on the front but the forcast is looking rough!

I think a stock WRX runs 13.5 pounds of boost which is quite a bit actually (the press kit says it runs 14.2). All of the WRXs world wide now use the 3 cat emission system as well but the Japan 'regular' WRX makes 247 HP probably because of it's varible valve timing we don't get (go figure, it also improves emissions). The japan version also makes and extra 33 ft-lbs of torque 400 rpm sooner which I bet really helps. It also has lower gears, over 100 pounds lighter, and bigger better brakes. All that on the regular, non STi version! All that for only 2.5 million Yen! If they make an STi version here I bet you it will really just be a Japan version as that will be a big upgrade in itself!

I thought about taking the weight out of my truck and I planned on washing it. The sand keeps sliding to the back when it's dry, so I just said screw it and left it there. Then it snowed, the back froze the back of the bed and the tailgate. Couldn't move those blocks of ice if my life depended on it. So some steeper inclines when I was stopped was a pain in the ass...

Is it just me, or when you go down the highway with your bed full of powder it's kinda cool watching huge clouds come off, trailing behind you and all other cars have to stay back.

It was all dry here, the middle of my yard actually is almost dry and I can see all the grass, but by my door it's like 7-8 inches+. Part of the road had no snow, but the other side has almost a foot. Kinda odd looking I think.
