Knobby, I feel for you man. I had a thing like this when I bought a roll bar from someone and they sent a totall different prodect. Only a few hundred bucks though. But I really feel for you. I hope Ian and the rest of that comapny can realize that this type of shady business will hurt them in the long run. They NEED TO MAKE IT RIGHT! I am not pointing fingers at anyone but Truckin-suspension does need to correct this situation. legal action is possible! Ian remember that.
And if my truck was on jack stands for a month, and my installer screwed up so much as to leave, I think I would have kicked his ass on the spot. I am not that big of a guy, 6 ft, 230lbs., But pick up a stick, and I am a bad ass mother fuger.

Cussed & Swore at the installer? Nope.. don't remember that the installer also told my dad that he got fired.. I find that quite strange because he's the owner of Custom Classic and I've never heard of someone firering them selves. Oh well what ever I don't think he's to bright anyway. Only good thing that he did do is ...... um..... er.. Put the jack stands under my truck? Heh that's all I can think of. He was complaining that I wasn't helping him.. Dude.. I'm NOT the installer YOU are. I'm there to watch and make sure you don't screw up.. Guess I wasn't watching close enough :(

Knobby, hey man, glad to hear you still have you humor with ya! my 6ft 230 self is not that big in my family. I still have 6inch to grow and about 60lbs to gain to beat my father!
So what are you doing now? Are you gonna transport the truck to the new off road place? Sounds like a good plan if you can afford it. Get a new head in there to look at the problems and get a new slant on the solutions to them. Dude, try to get ahold of Ian again and explain to him what is up. I know you gotta be fumming but you also got to get that truck back on the road. So keep you head cool man, sit back, drink a beer, and call that chicken up. And if you need to vent, just do it here my frined. Or you got my email, just write me. Il be thinking about you buddy.

Eric/Knobby,

'Tight' brake lines are hazardous to your health, don't drive it like that. When the suspension flexes the brake lines have to have play in them to compensate for the caliper moving to different positions. Tack the bill for the lengthened stainless lines on Eon's shortsightedness in designing an incomplete kit.

Sound's like Eon subcontracts out his work to true professionals. That moron hacking off your rear spring hangers and performing an install on an untested suspension lift without instructions is the epitome of professionalism! I've installed numerous lifts in my driveway and I am far from an expert. Sorry Eon, the afterthought about performing a suspension lift in the driveway doesn't wash, you should have specified that in the beginning, too late now.

Eric,
We're all pullin' for ya! Good Luck!

Why were they being sold?
IP: Logged

Ian said: "Our dakota kits are brnad new. They have not been fully tested. We do have a few trucks with the kits now and are getting good data on the kits."

Then why were they being sold and installed elsewhere in the first place? If these are still in development, should the company not be doing all this themselves, and not selling it until they're fairly confident that there won't be problems?

it sounds to me like Ian is getting the installers story from the installer and knobbymans story from knobbyman nad the truth is as i am hoping a little (all the way or close to) more on the side of knobbyman. I think you should take it to the new 4x4 shop and i think Ian should compensate at least a little for the wrong parts and the delays beyond what was in the agreement, the installer should also compensate for any parts he detroyed or anything else in the process of this whole ordeal

i may be a bit optomistic and living in a dream world, but i know when in bussiness
1)Image/reputaion is everything
2)the customer is usualy always right, (unless it is obviouse the customer are trying to scam you)

hope you guys get this strightened out to Ian can save face and knobby gets his lift as promised

Like Knobbyman was saying... the 4.5" lift shouldn't be much different than the 6.5", in which case these problems should have already been addressed. So let me get this straight Knobbyman... you paid $500 for an install that wasn't even completed?? Isn't that in itself a lawsuit!?

Like someone else said earlier, if I was in your area man, I would be over there helping you finish this project to get your NEW baby back on the road. At least you've gotten to know your truck REALLY well now! I hope this will all work out for you in the end. ;-)

Yep.. If I brake something in the future.. You'd better rest asure I'll know how to fix it ;-) I guess that's a good thing.

No I didn't pay $500 for the install.. I got the free-install from Truckin-Suspension when the offered it. But they paid Michael.

By the way.. Ian e-mailed me last night telling me that UPS takes 4-5 days to ship.. But I swear in this forum he said he overnights the new parts to me.. Anyway I have the e-mail at home so if you guys wanted to see it let me know and when I get home tonight I'll post it back in here.

Yes I think that Truckin-Suspension should help pay at least $500 towards the Tow-Truck and the new 4x4 shop. They offered me a free-install not 1/2 a free install.

If I would have known this right off I would have taken my truck to a shop in the first place. (I should have known better)

By the way.. Michael offered to install in my drive way he didn't suggest and neither did Ian to take my truck to Michaels "shop" from what I understand (I don't know because I wasn't there) he doesn't even have a shop.. he just has a warehouse but he will be building a shop in the near future.

Now what would the difference have been if he took it to the shop? I'm still curious.. Cutting torch, and the correct sockets? Hurm.. he was using my socket set when he was in my driveway so I don't see how that would have been different a Cutting torch.. GREAT!! just what I want him to use. He can't even grind off the correct parts.. I wonder what would happen when he tried to grind off that leafsprings front bracket on the drivers side with a torch (gas tank is right next to it). KA BOOOOOOM!!!!! then where would my truck be?

Just thought I'd update everyone... I did recieve a UPS package in the mail today.. my mother just called to let me know that something heavy just showed up.. So I'm guessing I got the replacement replacement parts.. But I'll let you know when I get to the house. WEEEEEEEE maybe I can put on my Torsion bars now. Bolting my Front Differential back on would be GREAT also. Now I just have to stop by Dodge and hope that they got my new Upper Control arms & Tie-Rod ends in.. So I can replace those.

Heh.. perhaps this will be done next weekend! :-) LOL!! If I keep saying that.. it's bound to happen right?

Ok update for you guys.. I missed w/ the new installers they got 4 more jeeps to work on so my truck is going to be sitting for a week to a week and a half before they can work on it. The good thing after that is they will be working on it.. 2 guys for 8 hours a day until it's done. So it can't take more then a day or 2 right? *crosses fingers*

So hopefully the weekend after next. (LOL I'll have this paid off before I acutally ride on it)

:-p I'll get back to you on Wensday... When a real shop can take a look at my truck. It's sitting on jackstands infront of there shop now. After they finish the Whiplash kit on the Ford they will be working on my truck.. 2 guys 11 hours a day until it's finished. Only problem is.. they will be charging me $100 a day if we are waiting for parts (which if this post is correct are suposed to be over-nighted).

I don't think we'll need to wait for parts though.. everything else looks like it'll fit.. or be able to worked into place.

So... Thursday or Friday .. I'm hoping again.... that my truck will be ready this weekend.
