Alright you guys. We all think our truck is better than the next, thats why its easy for me to deal with this question. I own a 92 toy and a 2000 dak. Its obvious they both have their place and the main reason is the price difference. Like dude-man above said you dont wanna toss your nice 15 grand truck into a bunch of rocks and trees. My toy has a sh*t load of dents and i couldn't care less. But when i want a nice smooth and fast ride i jump in my V8 dak. Its not too hard to see the positives of both. If you wanna slam on the trails and dont have to worry about being too light jump on the yota and beat the piss outa her! SHE LIKES IT. But if you wanna have some balls behind the throttle and have some comfort and room grab the dakota and let the rubber fly!!

Peace!

Well,
I can tell you one thing, yes my tacoma would deffinetly beat any of your dodges in a street race and most deffinely go anywhere your trucks can go. 3.4L V6 with 315HP and 320ft-lbs of torque. Gosh factory superchargers are a sweet sweet thing. ive put 50,000 miles on it with the SC and never had a problem. And whats this about needing lots of room. If you need room you buy a tundra, not a dodge. I would go for a ranger before i went for a dodge. Any whats this beef about power? Any v6 truck with intake and exhaust is gonna have plenty of power to go whereever it needs to go. its just a matter of the truck being designed good enough to get there. One more thing. Most all toyotas are made in the US these days, so basically they are AMERICAN MADE. so stop your bitchin' and bow down to the king you suckas.

00' Tacoma TRD 4x4
-TRD supercharger with 7th injector
-Borla Exhaust system
-K&N cold air
-6 inch fabtech lift
33 inch BF goodrich AT's

Suck on that^

Ok, if you keep and maintian any vehicle, it will last you a long time. If you bought your vehicle because thats what you wanted and you are happy with it, that is great. Good for you. If you want a relatively inexpensive vehicle to beat up off the road that can go almost anywhere without too much money in mods, then buy an old toyota or nissan or mazda or even an S-10. If you want a nice street vehicle, buy a Tundra or Dakota or whatever YOU would be happy driving.

This is a Dodge Dakota forum, so naturally the majority of these people are bound to be biased. To those people from the Toyota board linking here, I appoligize for some of the childness here. It's bound to happen somewhere. If you are happy with your Toyota truck, that is great. I'm happy for you. I am happy with my Dodge Dakotas), yes I have more than one.

I have several stories both good and bad about both of my dakotas as well as my friends nissans, mazdas, and toyotas. But I think we have heard enough on this topic. Both Dodges and Toyotas have their pros and cons. Live with it.

Can anyone close this thread?

I think there was a lot of good points made on both sides of the argument, but in the end it all comes down to how much you want to spend, and what you want to do with the vehicle. if you want to pull stuff or do some red neck wheelin and need some more power the v8 is a better way to go if you want to rock crawl the toy is the only way to go.

ok guys this has been going on long enough!!!!
i have three vehichles plus my wifes car.
1.97 taco 2wd lifted, fiberglass,31s etc
2.02 taco 4wd reg cab,v6,electro lock
3.03 dakota ext cab 4wd, v8
yes dodges are way more comfortable and powerful
great truck to pull my 27!!! foot fifth wheel
yeah not no tahoe light either (toy hauler)
with all the bikes in it
my yotas are toys i drive my 2wd to work loading up the miles great mileage very reliable
couldnt tow a motorcycle trailer though.
my 4wd taco i take hunting and trail driving through snow mud you name its been there.
all three are great trucks for their intended purpose fuel efficient uncomfortable long trip go anywhere ten times over you want a yota
wanna pull something be comfortable and have the power to climb hills (fast) you want the dak
like i said all great trucks equal in more ways than not, both reliable both over priced both look good had to pull both out of a river just after draining (very thick mud) but if were going to compare comfort and towing to milage and 4wd ability lets thow in a F350 4wd crew cab
power stroke lifted 10 inches with 38s i mean come on guys lets get real and compare apples to apples, toy to nissan and dakota to colorado both trucks still dominate their actual competitors hope i could be of some help here

I've been wheeling for about 15 years and have driven a '73 chevy, a 77 dodge, a 79 GMC, a 85 Ranger, a 77 Jeep Cherokee and a 86 Bronco. All of these truck can out perform a Toy. I got pics of three Toys tied together at Dresser, WI at the memorial weekend run. These trucks were in our group and we told them to stay tied together so we could pull all three at the same time. If you drive like a madman, any truck will get you there til it brakes! I've seen stock toys with 31's lift a tire and stop dead in their tracks. I currently own a 99 CC Dak and it has 173,000 miles on it. It wheels just fine, the v-8 is great, but the IFS is terrible. One day I will change out the front, but then I will compare it to solid axle trucks, not IFS trucks. All IFS is bad!!! The Hoot-man has spoken!

O, man. You people and your dodges, I would take just about any truck over a dodge. Face it they are pieces of crap, most ram trannys go out at around 80k. They just arnt well built, have crappy resale and are poorly made. The only reason that you say the taco is to small is because you are all fat ass red necks that couldnt fit in a conversion van. Ive never seen a dak offroad, well unless it was some red neck wheelin(just driving in mud). Seriously take ur dak to rubicon and see how far you get. I agree, ifs is only good to a point, but its better than anything a dak will ever have. A lot of tacoma owners put straight axles on thier trucks, mine included. There is not way your dak will ever get half as far as my SAS tacoma. Just face it. Dodges are an ok american car, behind ford and all gm's. Which is pretty sad cause GM's suck too. Ford makes some good vehicals. And dont bring up the non american crap, My taco was built in the usa. Laters fellas

Just be sure not to put too much weight in the back of your toy. I was helping a fellow move some things and I was kneeling on the open tailgate. The tailgate caved in where my knees where. I'm not but 175 lbs at that. They run good, 4wheel good, but truly are just a toy. The Tundras with the dual exhaust are extra cute. I saw one the other day with a bumper sticker, "when I grow up I want to be a Dodge diesel". Everyone knows GM, Ford, and Dodge are the true light duty work trucks out there. Toyotas will run forever, just don't lean on the body. You can go four wheeling in a Toy and maybe put some groceries in the back, thats about it.

Every forum has people that don't like what the forum they are on is about. Where do these people come from and why do they come to a forum that is about something they hate? It must be that they are feeling inferior and therefor must lash out at what they know to be better and try and bring it down...nnaaaaaaaaaa, that's impossible. Come on Dodge bashers, every post is proof of your feeling threatened by a truly superior product...post away...
