well guys, i finally went and got my 35's today. i didnt do any more trimming than i already had for the 33's. it DOES rub the frame just a little and FULL turn. but nothing major. i did lose a little turning radius. but o well. it's all good. but im not planning on doing any off roading with the 35's. their just straight road tires. ive kept my 33's on the other rims so ill have to switch em any time i wanna go. but that only takes like 10 min. but ill post some pics just as soon as i get some.

When you say that you lost some of the turning radius how much did you actually lose? Also just to clarify do you have the 35s on your 16x8 stock rims or something different? Lastly do you think by changing the backspacing to 5 or 4.5 will that help out with the rubbing issue and the turning radius?

Let me know because I plan to order my new tires soon and the information that all of you give me will be the deciding factor whether I get 33s or 35s.

Thanks,

Well, you lose quite a bit of turning radius, i cant say exactly how much but jsut go in your truck and try driving without going to full lock, thats basicly what your dealing with, not too bad though. Anyway, glad it worked out for you Brandon,

Rob

Thanks for the info. My Dak already has the turning radius of a Mac truck so it won't really bother me to lose a little. LOL

One more thing do you think changing the back spacing will help with the turning radius and the rubbing? I know that forexfour (Chris) and I talked about it previously in this thread but I would like to get some additional info from both of you since you guys have the 35s already.

Thanks,

Scott

I would say stay as close to 5" as possible. Much more backspacing and you will rub on the front bumper and fender flare when turning, it may solve your rubbing on the frame issue but would cause more problems later on if you went much moer than 4-4.5". I would think 4.5 would be ok and would help a little with frame rub, but careful going much furthur. The 3.25" that AE589's have wont work.

i dont think i lost that much turning radius. i mean, its ok when youre turning onto another street and while youre driving, its great. but its when youre trying to park, or backing up. but i mean, as long as u cut it slow, everything is fine. im running my 16x8 stock rims that come on the dakotas from the factory. i should have some pics on here 2morrow, so check back from time to time. and like Rob said, andy different backspacing, and ull rub the front plastics even worse. rite now im not rubbing anywhere except for the frame when i turn the wheel as much as itll go.

I was not gonna post on this anymore but after seeing Brandon's setup....

V8lum,

When can we maybe hook up at Gorman or maybe Pismo?

Let me know. Right now I only know of the Pismo meet 8-23,24 and I will be traveling to Six Flags again in October, so maybe we could hook up then as well. I want to see that setup you have with 35's and see some flex. If you got a free weekend let do it.

Chris
