Subject: Georgia People??
IP: Logged

Message:
Hello,

I hope that I am not posting in the wrong part of the message board! I was just wondering if there are any people around Georgia who own a dak? I have a 1992 Dakota and I was kinda thinking it'd be cool to maybe have a cruise or something?? Ha, I dunno... An obvious 18 year old with nothing to do on weekends and I love her to death but I need a differernt hang-out buddy than my girlfriend sometimes:-p Anyways...

Thanks,
-Jason

Hey-
I own a 2000 Dakota 4x4 and am from near Augusta, Ga. It would be awesome if we could get a bunch of Dak owners together for a show or offroad event. Anyone else from GA?

Being a fisherman was one of the factors that pursuaded me to get a 4x4. Also, that's a huge factor in the high miles on my truck (165k).

Better bass pro shops than a bar...well maybe not :)

I am getting more into fly fishing. I went with some TU chapter members last weekend to NC, had a blast, caught many a trout.

Haha--this is kind of funny. All the Dakota guys from GA (including me) are avid hunters and fishers. I moved to Georgia 2 years ago and where I used to live, I was 10 miles from a Bass Pro Shop. I was there all the time. Now, there's not one within 2 hours of me (stupid Augusta). So maybe now instead of an offroad event or car show, we should have a fishing tournament or something!

So we've established everyone likes fishing--how bout hunting? I'm a big hunter and would rather be in the woods than doing just about anything else. For my Dakota, its the truck's first hunting season--can't wait to throw the first deer in the bed of it.

2000 Dak 4x4 SLT 4.7L. Recent Dodge convert. Live up in Rabun County (a little bit south of Clayton, GA and right north of the gorge.. very NE tip of GA). Yes, the same county Deliverance was filmed. =P Roughly a little over an hour from Lake Lanier. Plenty of fishing and hunting up here in the mountains.. can't say I do too much of either though. Up for drinking beer and talking about fishing though! We also have a rather nice shooting range fairly close that has to be the longest 3 miles of your life (rough dirt roads up a mountain.. great fun!). Anyways, I'm rather surprised to see quite a few Georgians on this board. Rather nice actually.

Deer Chili? Hmm never had that before. I've had deer roast (better than beef roast ANY DAY!) and deer burgers, but not deer chili. May have to put that on my "list of things to try" this winter. =)
