Well i finaly sold my 2003 fully loaded CC r/t. What a pain in the ass that was...the dealer wouldnt even give me 15k for it...iended up trading it in for the truck i shouldve got in the first place...a 2003 ford ranger fx4 with the 4.o v6 and 4.10's,. its not far behind the r/t performance wise and about 130 more miles per tank (both trucks have same size tank)For anyone who is thinking about a didge dakota r/t getr it becuz it looks nice and drives nice...not becuz its quik..thats one thing it is not...the truck is way overrated...I got beat my my buddys 2002 excab sonoma he only had exhaust intake and 3.73's...lol..how lame is that...i also waxed r/t's all the time in my 97 s10ss...i shouldve learned my lesson but didnt...dont get me wrong though the r/t is a nice truck but isnt all iots cracked up to be...huge dissapointment power wise...rersale value sucks...lucky ford even gave me 18,500 for trade in...oh well..live and learn...

Good for you. I wish I could do the same. I have a 2002 3.9 with too many problems. I just requested a price quote on a 2003 Edge Plus (although it was by accident). The invoice is just as much as the sticker on my 2002 CC 3.9 SLT but the Ford gives me 4x4, BFG's, and four liters that actually DO something, along with all the other goodies on the inside. Enjoy.

Reply with a VIN and I'll do a CarFax.

Either way both of you numb nuts will be sorely disappointed with the "performance" of your Ferd Rangers. Inspite of the weight advantage they have they are dogz with a wimpy bark.

Maybe when you learn to drive properly you'll understand.

That's funny that you like a rangers performance over an R/T. Either it was a factory slow truck or a really bad driver. Cause they will beat any close to stock ranger or s10 any day.

"a 2003 ford ranger fx4 with the 4.o v6 and 4.10's,. its not far behind the r/t performance wise" - Yea they're usually not far behind, they're broken down on the side of the road. :-)

RYAN H.....Listen to whatn you just said....an r/t will beat anyclose to stock ranger...i hope so its only got a 360 v8 but your right a slighly modded v6 ranger or s10 will beat it lol...and driving please...how hard is it to drive a stock automatic truck with as much power as a toyota carrolla?? And rangers performance suck?? well im halfway thru my 351w swap on my 88 ranger so well so how the performance is on that right?? I thought the dodge would be a good choice but damn the thing is slow...and i could lower it 5 inches and still have 5 inches of fenderwell gap...lol...and i caint wait till i beat an r/t with my 4x4 ranger with some slight mods..like coldair intake, exhaust, chip, that might be it...i mean im only 30 hp behind the dodge as it is...and evereyone knows the r/t falls on its face after 2nd gear anyway...lol....

I had a ford 4.0 before I got my Dodge. It was the most gutless, leaky engine I've ever had. In order to pull my camper I had to hold it to the floor just about all the time. Good luck.

I said that because that's what you're making it seem like. Once you get modding things, a hyundai can beat a viper. You're making it sound like the r/t can't hold up to a normal s-10, or ranger. I still find it hard to believe that a slightly modded s-10 or ranger will beat an r/t. Unless you consider a blower "slightly" modded.

i know it sucks...but the sonoma that beat my 2003 r/t had the k&n fipk kit, slp y pipe and spintech catback,3.73 gears, and a b&m shift "kit" on his automatic....that to me is slightly modded, he is one of my good friends and we live in san francisco, so anyone who wants to run a stock r/t against his sonoma is welcome too...he not only beat me off the line but on freeway as well....please feel free to look at his site www.n20noma.com dont let the name fool you thoguh...the bottle is not on the truck yet...for those of you in the bay area...you might remeber his black s10ss that ran 12.42 on a 100 shot

I like the old SS. That was a sharp looking truck. 15.2 is what a stock Club Cab R/T will run. It seems if you ran an R/T vs the sonoma, whomever will get better traction will win. I ran a 15.2 back when my R/T was stock. I pobably shoulda stayed stock...now there's no money left for mods ;-)

my old man has a ranger with a 4.0 and my 3.9 can beat it. I would say the main reason your R/T was slow is that you live in san fran and are queer and cant drive. Now if you would take your sorry pittiful sack sucking self back to your ranger board that would be very nice

93venom,

hope you're happy with your change.

I've got a 4.7, 5spd, Quad cab, lightly moded. Rarely race it but, no ranger has been able to stay with it around town. I know they have different engines though, like daks do.

With my Quad, I pull my 20ft catamaran sailboat, load it down with gear, people, even have a cab high Leer shell on it. Now I understand you probably don't want it to actually perform like a 'truck', cause my Quad, performs like a 'truck', and there is no way the ranger can touch what my Quad cab will. It will also have alot less interior room while trying to do it.

Again, no flame here, no name calling, and do hope you're happy, after all, that's really what life is all about.

Great choice! I like my new Ford way better than my 01 R/T. It feels, rides and performs way better. At work it's the same, the GMs and Dodges break down and ware out so much more, our Fords just keep on going! I will keep my Dodge, it's in great shape but dosen't measure up to my Ford, even though the R/Ts modded. I guess I'll use it as a beater truck. It's not like I can sell it, I think folks are catching on to the Dodge deception, not Dodge different. Later skaters!

I doubt any of these lying shlt sacs actually ever owned a Dak. That numbnuts 93venom won't post his VIN because he claims he doesn't have it. I have mine in at least 3 places not on my truck. Now he's off to a Dodge dealer to try to find an R/T to copy the VIN off of. LOL. These flaming Frud faggots won't stop at anything to try to spread their lies but fortunately for us they're not very bright, obviously.

As for 01 R/T, I doubt that trailer park dwelling queer could afford a Skoda let alone 2 different trucks.

These Frod fags are a hoot.

im sorry.. but how is owning any ford product wise? i had a ford ranger. i took better car of it then i do my pets. always clean, checked fluids regularly, low miles. took it easy on driving it. it was leaking a bit, so i take it t ford, its leaking at both valve covers, the oil pan, the rear main seal, the head gasket, and a freeze plug was almost rotted out. they fixed it all, i got it back, and the tranny wasnt working right, 4,500 rpm at 65mph... (thats a bad thing) im sick of ford products and service.. you go and have fun with your little toy. id take a dakota with 200k miles on it over a ford anyday.

200k mark...lol...yea,because when it hits about 250 or 300k you could rebuild the motor and you still have a good truck but when the ford hits about 60 or 70k you want to just park it behind the ole garage and light it on fire and sit around it with a couple buddies, drink a couple beers and maybe roast some weiners on it...LOL.

My ranger has less than 30k on it. At about 29k the axle broke. When I got it with less than 20k, it needed new rotors, pads, and shoes in back shortly after. Also the calipers were frozen so they had to be lubed up. Now the axle seal that Ford fixed is leaking and the Driver Side backing plate is bent, that was found after changing a broken brake adjuster cable. To top it off, the 4 speed auto tranny is know to be a POS. Last Ford I'll ever buy, currently on the market for a Full Size. My brother has a 98 dakota but it's still too small for me after driving a Silverado 40k per year for work.
