My R/T (k&n, flowmaster muffler, & electric fan) ran a 15.1 with a 2.4 60'. This was in Carlsbad here in Cali and the track was in horrid condition. This condition makes for bad traction issues!

With a $1,000 in sweet bolt-ons, I managed a 9.2@ 77mph in the 1/8 mile. I'm still having traction problems but these new times (ran 9.2 three consistant times) makes for low 14s in the 1/4 mile.

About Tony's new truck (know Tony from sportruck.com), his 15.2 1/4 mile, 2.0 60'(slicks) plus more mods and less weight is not as good as my almost stock times. My 15.1, 2.4 60' with street tires, more weight, and only three small mods is much better considering the .4 difference in the 60' times. That .4 60' difference is usually translated to about .8 sec in the 1/4, the numbers don't look so close anymore. My new times on street tires would kill tony's new truck.

As far as rangers go, I've seen some mid to high 15 second stock rangers, so if that floats your boat than purchase a ranger. I paid 15K for my truck, invested a tad over $1000 and run low 14s which floats my boat(killing rangers and s-10s).

Oh, Tony's old truck was sweet but he blew it up along time ago with too much spray for that little motor!

Umm tony sold his truck with the original motor....im one of his good friends i should know...and how do you get more mods...he beat my stock r/t with minimal mods...and 15.1?? my s10 ran that at 89 mph...If your truck is quik enuff to beat tony's on the internet you should race him in reallife..Im glad you only paid 15k for your truck...because you will only lose like 7 grand when you sell it

Last I hear(long time ago), Tony had gone past the 100 shot to try and hit elevens and something went wrong. I also read a post that showed Tony posting two different times on two different chat boards, which had alot a folks wondering if he was telling the absolute truth. Here is one of the owners who tony almost always disagreed with:

Personally, if tony says he ran high 11s(or whatever it was at the time), I took his word for it.

"...how do you get more mods", I was referring to him having more mods running a 15.2 (according to his website) than myself having three mods running a 15.1. As far as me running a 15.1, Kotaon20s(eric) and Daker777(brig) were both there when I ran low 15s all afternoon. They post on this board and were also there when I ran 9.2s all evening.

I've got cousins up in the bay area, so the next time I ride up there(6 hour drive), I'll definitely email Tony and set something up! As far as selling the truck, who said anything about selling it?

One last thing(sorry so long), the night I ran 9.2s there was a 4.3 extreme at the track which had a lot of mods. The chevy had a powerdyne sc, headers, chip, complete exhaust, rockers, street slicks, and a 50 shot of NX according to the owner(nice guy). The extreme ran a 9.5 on the same track, same conditions, same night, and almost same time of the evening. He ran right before I did against a turbo civic, which ran a 9.4 and beat the chevy.

You assume all R/T are slow just because you had bad experiences with yours. Should I assume all s-10s and rangers are slow just because I've seen a few run slow times at the track??

i simply stated that stock r/t's are slow...mine was stock and it was slow...simple as that i also said an s10 with few mods beat mine....never said i had anymods...just sad to me that a "performance truck" would lose to a sonoma with just a few mods...

Well, it's also sad to see a Z06 lose to a $2000 '57 VW Beetle, but that's life. Good luck with your Ranger, but it will lose by a bigger margin to Tony's truck than your R/T!
