Good choice or you can go to 4.56. Do you have a stick or auto?

Sniper, I've heard that the 4.10 gears are the "sweet spot" with our Dakotas. I haven't heard a single complaint from anyone that has graduated to these gearings.

I wish I could afford to "graduate" from my 3.55 w/ LSD, but it isn't in the cards right now. b1llyw, would I have to swap out my LSD if I went to 4.10 gearings?

You can keep your LSD if you swap out to 4.10's, no problem.

Good to know. What is the difference between a "Basic Install Kit" and a "Master Install Kit"?

sniper - 4.10 would be a great choice, I even saw a slight increase in milage with the swap you are contemplating.

jpkomn - master install kit will typically include new carrier bearings, which can be a weak point in a mopar rear - good idea to take care of while the rear is being worked on.

Kowalski, what about the front differential for us 4x4 peoples? Would I still need the Master or just the Basic? I assume just the basic kit since I don't drive in 4wd all the time, but I could be wrong. Thanks.
