Hey fella's just searching for some hints on how to get more Hp out of my '98 Dak. 5.2 Here are the mods so far. intake, exhaust, headers, pulleys, mopar ign. kit, ported t.b, and a ported manifold (and i mean ported). all this has given a really well low end torque yet i need something for the higher end like in 3rd gear. Any suggestions.? thanks guys.
Ps. i had an electric fan but that was a joke, it only got hotter then before, and the fuse kept blowing off.

do a search and you will find many suggestions. heres a couple of tips from me. a camshaft and gears.

Depends on what mods you've done. Some people consider hacking off the tail pipe to be a power mod (it's not). Headers? Free flow cat/muffler/tail pipe?
Sounds like you've done about all you can with the intake.
Computer? Lots of cheap/easy power with a computer reprogrammer.
On the money side, time for some Edelbrock heads. Also, swap the cam for something a little more agressive.
A little cheaper would be better rocker arms for more valve lift.
What rear gears do you have? What tires/wheels?

Not exactly what you are looking for but still relates.
Remove any unnecessary weight. They say dropping 100 lbs drops 1/10 sec from time.
also sounds like you had a junk fan, perhaps bad wiring if fuse kept blowing. I have a factory electric fan in my 02 and it works great.

thanks gor the info guys...i was thinkin on putting it on a diet, yet this is my work truck so it wouldnt affect much. As far as camshaft and gears? i really wouldnt like to take the whole engine out, since i need it on a daily basis, yet the gears idea not bad. computer assistance seems good too , and rocker arms seems a really good idea, since i saw the interior when i replaced the intake, so i know how to get to it now. But how will the rocker arms give me more hp? that i dont understand. thanks again guys.

go with the 1.7 ratio if your not going to do the cam. if you plan someday to do the cam, do the 1.6 ratio.
the stock stamped rockers are 1.6 ratio so if you go with the 1.7 that's like adding a slight cam and new Roller rockers will reduce the friction giving you more hp.

thanks toolfan , i do have one more question though. when buying the rocker arms, do i need to buy new roller lifters, valve springs, and push rods as well? thanks.
anything else to keep a note of?
