The sensor is on the passenger side of the block, close to the rear.

The trigger wheel is on the rear of the crank, but INTERNAL to the engine. Where on the 5.2/5.9/3.9 it is on the flywheel and the sensor bolts to the tranny.

I would think that was a fluke for that thing to come loose.

I HOPE anyway :)

Here's my Crank (for my OTHER 4.7 engine) that I picked up from the machine shop a week or two ago...

You can clearly see the target wheel on that there.

I slid the tranny back on threaded rod (Metric Bolts) and dropped the main support girdle, sent the crank to the machine shop and had them clean up the journals and oil holes, and stuck it back together the same day.. Changed the oil pan too cause it was rusty, I lifted the crank into the hole with a hydraulic jack and a block of wood :) Don't have that upper arm strength that the old farts do! Didn't touch the main or rod bearings, they looked like brand new.. And what a b1tch to setup the cam timing without a service manual! lol! I'm really not sure how it even came loose because it wasn't loose when I took it out.. but it sure was giivng it late timing...

The insurance company hasn't said anything about the truck.. so I already bought a bumper for it at the flea market for $40, the new fender is only $200 brand new, and I think I might repaint the whole entire truck since its a really terrible white/yellow combination!

The truck runs better now than it ever has though, too bad the steering wheel is 90 degrees out :(
