I've picked up a can of Seafoam to try.

Has anyone used this product before?

If so what results have you had?

The instructions say to add 1/3 can to the tank, 1/3 can to the crankcase, and 1/3 can into the brake booster vacuum line.

Any information will be appreciated.

I use it at every oil change. Keeps sludge from building up in the oil. Cleans injectors in gas and in air cleans carbon build up. All can contribute to worse gas milage.

I know a few veteran auto mechs who swear by Seafoam and it's competitors, and I've used it myself. Here where I live NAPA has it right handy to grab-right by the checkout.

I will also mention that 8 out of 10 times I go to get it on the shelf at my local advance it's sold out. They have to get more from the back. They used to only have 1 row of it on the shelf, now they have 3. I bet it's not long before they have more.

great product, cost effective. Alot of people are seeing the value in it.

Thanks for the input.

I run the Seafoam like the can said and have noticed the engine seems to run stronger like it used to when new.

My milegae seems to be a bit better, how ever it is still to early to tell.

I am still running the tank with the seafoam in it thru.

So far it seems to work as advertised.

Thanks.

I was considering trying AutoRX. Has anyone tried this product or should I just so with Seafoam? Seafoam seems to be the recommended engine cleaner at this sight.

Thanks

AutoRx is a great product that truely does a great job. It's a long term fix doing one or 2 aplications dependinmg how bad a shape your engine is in. Between AutoRx and seafoam. You can not go wrong. Seafoam is a fast fix , AutoRx is a long term fix but a more efficient fix. Far as I know AutoRx needs to be ordered. Never seen it in a store. About 21 bucks a pop. AutoRx is by far the very best sludge cleaner. One thing that can happen with it is if your engine has been neglected and has high milage, AutoRx will clean the hard sludge build up that MAY or MAY NOT be on the seal surface And cause a leak,RARE THING TO HAPPEN. It also softens the hardened seals reexpanding them so it's also possible it will repair the leak or a leake thats already there. Either way this is a rare thing to happen. AutoRx also is only used in the oil. Your seafoam would do the tank and intake. These products really compliment each other. With AutoRx, it is very important you follow the instructions EXACT or you waist your bucks.

So many problems .... So little time

just wait till you guys put it in an angine that has been neglected and full of sludge build up. the seafoam in the crank case losens it all up and can plug up the pickup tube which leads to loss of oil pressure. which this guy seriously damaged his engine. (rod knock) happened two times on his dakata till we found out the guy had been using this stuff in the crankcase. change your oil regularly with a good oil and it will keep it clean and running good for years

Gee, did that guy use a whole bottle in his crankcase AFTER an oil change, then drive it around 'til... clunk? I've been using, like the bottle says, 1/3 of a bottle per oil change. I would put it in then idle the engine for 10-15 minutes, then dump the oil. It's been working fine for me and others on this site.

Myself, I never used seafoam in a crankcase so I can not speak on this. AutoRx is long term meaning it takes a good 1,000 miles to SLOWLY SLOWLY DESOLVE sludge. After the treatment you put any cheap oil available and run it maybe 500 miles. Then change it again doing the same thing including filters. If all is looking good put the good stuff in . If you think the engine is still a mess like still burning oil or another reason you don't like, run another treatment. I have not used AutoRx in a long while sence using syn so I'm not sure Im recalling the instructions exact. Just be sure you follow instructions exact and all will be ok .

If you are really concerned about damage, get an engine flush service done. Pump in cleaning solution in oil filter port at 42 PSI and vacuum it out the pan. Nice fast way to break up sludge and remove it. Then use seafoam or autorx as a preventative.

Worked for me, increased gas milage back up too!
