Hello,

Anyone experienced this problem. Did not start my 2000 4.7 liter truck for a few weeks and had a dead battery. Once I got it jump started and running, the idle would drop out if I take my foot off the gas pedal and the engine stalled.

I let it warm up and it ran better but ended up stalling again when I took it for a ride. No engine codes are coming up either.

Any ideas, thanks.

Some trucks will do that after a dead battery.

My 4.7 never did, but have heard many others that did. One of my work vans would do that too anytime the battery went dead even for a second.

You have to drive it for a little while and it will be fine. Other than that, a stcuk IAC valve can cause stalling. But most likely just need to train the PCM since you let the battery go dead.

Yup, very common for the PCM to have to relearn the idle after low voltage. You can just use some throttle for a few minutes to keep it running while it relearns; don't even have to drive it anywhere and risk it stalling.

Lead, follow, or get out of the way

Thanks guy's you were right.

Gave it about 5 minutes of run time and went for a cruise, now running fine.
