i went to autozone, murry's, and a local parts store looking for a 180 t-stat. and the local one said that it isn't even made for 4.7, autozone and murry's said that it isn't available. so where the f**k can i get a 180 dgree t-stat for my truck. do i have to get it online or mailorder? i need help please. all you guys must know were to get parts. oh can i take off the clutch fan and then put the t-stat in or do i have to do them both at the same time? thanks again

I got mine at Autozone. It is a Robert Shaw, part number GT755-180. They should have them on the shelf. If not, just ask the parts drone at the counter for that specific part number. If they ask you what it's for, tell them it's for a race car so the application doesn't really matter. They won't give you the lifetime warranty on it but for $5.99, who cares.

just cause thier system hasnt been upgraded
doesnt mean they dont make it. Autozone,
kragen, shucks, etc. are all useless when it
comes to customer service, and automobile
knowledge. If you dont drive a pre 1972
hotrod, they dont know what the f*ck they are
talking about.
I would put in the t-stat first, or at the same
time

thanks for the help guys, it was right on the shelf hanging on a hook for $5.99 plus tax. and i still got the lifetime warranty. on the next hook i saw one that had the number gt755-160 i am assuming that is 160 degree. has anyone tryed that.

160 is too cold (may trip the check engine light and does cause worse gas mileage).

Stant superstat# 65358 this is the 180 also, and works in the v-6 v-8 and i believe dodge 4 bangers.

I don’t know where you are but they don’t sell Robert Shaw on the West Coast, My wife picked one up for me at autozone when she was visiting her aunt in Georgia.
Gibson headers, Gibson Cat-back, Volant cool air system, 180 stat, Jet stage II chip.

Yea they are. I went to autozone the other day to ask about the lakewood traction bars. Guy behind the counter looked at me like I was dumbass when I asked him if they stock the traction bars. That guy was a prick.

Parts stores don't suck!... The people in them do.
There are some good ones although you probably won't get the best help at the Zone. If there is an Advance in your market you might give them a try... Advance in the Alk/La/Tex is running Autolites for .69 ea(might stock up while you're
there)

AutoZone can get almost everything, including a PCM and a Performance chip, to get the pcm I had to give them the part #.
