After having my heater core replaced on my 98 Dakota a problem with the ABS system (rear wheel only) and cruise control appeared. At about 60km/hr the brake and ABS warning lights come on and cruise control does not function. How would you track down this problem without replacing expensive components on a trial and error basis?

Before getting to excited, I would first reajust the switch on the brake peddle. It is a slip/rachet adjustment.Look in your repair manual how to do this. Working under the dash doing a heater considering all the twisting a guy does, it may have gotten knocked out of adjustment. Also the wire conecter may have gotten bumped loose

So many problems .... So little time

OB103,
Good Call! No adjustment was required but the wiring connector that plugs into the brake pedal switch was not fully engaged. Cruise control now functions correctly and warning lights are gone.
There are times when I wonder what could be more simple? The solution to a problem or the monkeys that work on your vehicle.
By the way, please pass me the Banannas,
McPipes
