I have replaced thermostat, fan clutch, radiator, waterpump, and now a used engine replacement with new water pump and fan clutch, transfered to the new engine.

We started it and runs great but overheats after a few minutes revving at 2500 rpm . We get heat from the heater in the cab.

Its a 97 with a 5.2 . No electric fan.

Help me pleeezz

Have you check the catalytic converter to make sure it's not plugged up?

I'll bet you used the same radiator. You may want to back flush the radiator. I've heard where the radiator gets plugged and doesn't allow the flow, thus overheating. Also, make sure you don't have a build up of stuff between the Radiator and the A/C Condensor. I know you said you changed the clutch fan, and I've also heard of those things being bad out of the box. If you have the truck running, have the hood open, watch the fan and shut the engine off. Does the fan continue to spin for more than a few seconds? Mine would spin for as much as 8-10 seconds before I replaced it.

I assume you've also replaced the radiator cap with the radiator. A bad cap will cause overheating. Also a blown head gasket. Ever had your engine flushed?

Check the routing of the serpentine belt. Believe it or not, I actually saw a serpentine belt on a Dakota 5.2 that was routed wrong and actually turned the water pump backwards. Needless to say the truck overheated big time. Study the diagram carefully and check it out. Should only take a minute to check to verify it is routed correctly.

check the rad cap and also check to see if you have a hose that's collapsing.
