Subject: Gibson Exhaust not enough backpressure?
IP: Logged

Message:
Hey Guys,
I'm currently lifting and loading my truck. I've settled on the Airraid intake producing 11hp on my 4.7 (04 quad 4x4). My question is on the exhaust. I love the dual side exit exhaust by Gibson, but with that much going out, will that decrease my power by not having enough backpressure? I want the rumble, but also not at the expense of performance. Ideas?..thanks.

You should be fine - the problem isn't so much back pressure but being better to keep exhaust velocity up - and there's plenty of narrower pipe ahead of the Gibson set up for that. I'm pleased with their single sweptside on mine, nice straight thru muffler design.

Lead, follow, or get out of the way
