Just replaced front disk brakes 98 Dakota 4x4, now ABS/Brake light come on after driving and when I press the brakes... they make a ticking noise.

If the brakes are "ticking" right after you changed the pads, they may not be seated quite right or maybe your calipers are getting funky (one may not be on right). Does it sound like it is coming from the right side of the vehicle or the left? Is it only doing it when braking in turns or just going straight? Is it ticking even when you aren't hitting the brakes? Is the vehicle pulling more in one direction than the other when braking? Strange that your BRAKE light is on though. I'm not real good with brakes, but maybe answering these questions will help those who are answer your question.

Well I hope I'm in the right area, as this is all new for me. Thank you very much for all the info... I replaced the rear wheel sensor $50.00 from Dodge and all the "dummy" lights went out and all is ok. Not sure how this stopped the clicking noise but it did.

Just curious, but was the clicking noise like a spring creaking? Was it coming from where the master cylinder and brake booster is located?

yes, besides the clicking noise, it felt like a spring under the brake pedal, but not inside the cab. Like you said, the master cyliner/brake booster area. I thought it was definitely serious but once I replaced that sensor, it all went away. (Just one more thing to make $$$)
