Sounds like fun ! Tranny cooler is a good idea; should tow fine. Some tongue weight helps handling, I pulled 5000 with your motor/gear combo.

Lead, follow, or get out of the way

My 2002 QC 4.7 Auto 4x4 with towing and heavy duty packages (wiring, Class IV hitch, tranny cooler, heavy duty radiator) is rated for towing around 4500 lbs with 3.55 gears according to the original window sticker listing the options.

i tow a 24' sea ray laguna, it's about 6500lb's wet including trailer, my dak does fine even though thats about my limit as far as the manuel is concerned, no wheel slip even on a step slippery boat ramp. The problem is stopping all that weight, i have trailer brakes that help alot. i have about 2-3" of squat, but i'm going to fix that soon with R.A.S

02,4.7 QC,2wd,k&n,3.92lsd.
