Check out eBay item 4605643171. It claims to be a 2006 R/T. But after looking at how crappy it looks I hope you're still excired about one.

I would wait before buying an R/T, it's only a matter of time before they start slapping Hemi's into the Dak's.

I heard that they were not using the hemi currently because it would not fit in the dak. Not sure if that is true or not. They would definately sell alot of them if they dropped the hemi in it.

You'd think if they could fit a 360 in a Dak, they could fit a Hemi. ;) Then again, I don't know if the engine compartment shrunk in the 05/06 generation or not.

It definately doesn't have that "beefy" appeal that the previous generation had. Looks like it is made a lot cheaper (panels look like they're made out of plastic!). From the side you could almost swear it was a chebby with all the boxy edges. Can't help but wonder with all the GM layoffs if some of their engineers didn't migrate over to DC. Oi..

I can never remember but the hemi is either longer or wider than 3.7/3.9/4.7/5.2/5.9 magnum engines. Whichever one it is the cummins diesel is the opposite. That is why on trucks! Stacy is using a 440 in the 41 power wagon (sgt rock?) for the memphis belle restoration project.

I supposed they could always drop a 440 in the dak and label it R/T :)

The NEw dak R/T sucks. its a G D body kit. and a 4.7 at only 10 HP over stock. yes, they could fit a hemi, they just obviously decided against it. (maybe they figured it'd be hemi overkill?)
anything and I mean anything is poosible with a big enough hammer and a oxy actylene torch!!

IF they wanted to put a hemi in, they could have figured it out... think about the SRT8 charger. its a 6.1 hemi... producing 425 HP AND torque, naturally aspirated. they coulda, they just didn't.
My vote, and I'm sad to say, cause I was holding off for the new Dak R/T myself, is either wait, or be dissatisified.... personally, I'm talking with a sales rep about trading in my car and my dak R/T on that Charger SRT8, I test drove one... and the lady said I was being "too nice" with my driving... I tried to rationalize that it was a 45K car that WASN'T mine.... she simply replied, " I don't care, its not mine either."... I promptly put it sideways around the next turn, and then for at least another 1/4 mile, snaking it down the road! the rush of 425 HP was enough to sell me... now I just gotta climb a $45K sticker price!

Well a 4.7 HO would be FINE for an R/T IF it wasn't a 4X4.

I really LIKE my 4.7 4X4 i have, but would NEVER think of it as an R/T. Which would be built for HANDLING, not offroading. What a bunch of morons for passing that off as an R/T.
I assume it's a dealer rebadging!

Now that said. A 2WD CC 4.7 HO 5 speed manual would probably RAPE the last generation stock 5.9 R/T's. Sad but true as long as it doesn't weigh in much more than the last generation.
And not needing to shift by 5K would be awesome.

I saw a 2006 R/T CC 2wd in Red at a local dealer today. It had an inverted "L" graphic on the bed top side leading into a wider rear band with a 60's-retro R/T logo inside. Stock ride height, no fender flares, only 8" wide wheels, a tiny Sport rear sway bar, and a huge plastic hood scoop. Oh, and a $25 window sticker. The '06 CC weighs 4250 pounds, a bunch more than a GenIII R/T RC at 3880 pounds.
