I need some advice on installing a light duty snow plow on my 2003 dakota. The owners manual states that one should not be installed because it could deploy the air bag. I've call various suppliers and they all says its ok to install it. I would like to hear from someone who has actually done it.

Does your owners manual state that a snow plow or even a winch should not be installed on a Dakota?

Mine did, but Fisher said otherwise. Hasn't been a problem in 5 years.

Lead, follow, or get out of the way

So let me get this straight, everbody who has read this subject & owns a dakata; their dakota owners manual says nothing against installing a snow plow. My Dakota owners manual says I can't because it could deploy the air bag.

My dakota manual tells me not to. The dealership offically tells me not to, but pointed me in the direction of a plow shop that took very good care of me. Three years with my Western and have no regrets or problems. Western, Fisher and others spend alot of time making sure they offer products that will work on a dak without difficulty. Read their lit, follow their recomendations, and deal with a reputable shop. A set of Timbrens on the front is also a good idea if you can swing it.
