Message:
Im putting my truck on the dyno tomorrow to see what it's got. I can dyno it anytime for free at the vocational I go too. I do have one problem though. The chart on the dyno says my truck weighs 4200 pounds and that can't be right. But I think it will only effect the 1/4 run on the dyno. Give me your guesses on how much you think I will get at the rear wheels. I have a 96, RC, short bed with a 318 and an automatic. Gibson headers, JBA Y-pipe, carsound cat, IAT adjuster, K&N intake, 180 stat and 3923's. I think thats everything. Im gonna dyno it tomorrow then next week when a get my Mopar PCM.

i now my 98 318 dak puts 184hp at the wheels. i think yours will put out 217rhp let me know if that pcm makes a diff. did those 3923 autolites make a diff?

damn dak are fast personly thought they put more hp to the ground. ive smoked 5.4 fords f150 and 5.3 silverads. the only thing i got smoked by was a pt cursier turbo. my truck is almost to the moon on miles.

I don't think the autolites improved performance but they sure improved my idle. I went from a rough almost stalling 400 rpm with the champions to a smooth 600 rpm when I switch to the autolites.

i haven't been able to check the plugs on my truck because every spark plug socket is to big to fit down that hole. my truck takes a little longer to start on cold mornings. hope your truck runs good on the dyno.

ps idles smooth at 600rpm

I put the truck on the dyno today and here are the results:

184 RWHP @ 4250RPM
242 RWTQ @ 3500RPM

The power band is moved up from the factory so the Mopar PCM and Stall converter on the list for next mods.

I also just found out while looking at the computer that the part number indicates that it has the death flash. So the mopar PCM should help out a lot on the power curve.

what is the death flash? that suck that they were so low. but that doesn't mean that that truck is slow.

The death flash was chryslers cheap fix for their pinging problem. They pulled timing and did some other stuff too but im really not sure. No the truck is not slow though. It ran a 15.2 at 90MPH when it was stock. My truck is as light as can be...RC, short bed, with no power accesories or A/C.
