 Subject: 4.7 21psi radiator cap

There must have been a TSB somewhere along the line. I just replaced the top radiator hose with intregal radiator cap on my 2001 4.7. The original was 18psi, but the superceded part is now 21psi. I had the Dodge dealer parts double check, and sure enough, its 21psi now. Better temperature management?

No. Just higher working pressure before the coolant "boils" out into the overflow tank. About 260 degrees F.

I was wondering if D-C raised the pressure to even out the coolant temperature throughout the cooling system, i.e. "hot spots".
