really stupid question. my freind wants me to tow his ranger. All I have is a ball to hook onto the bumper. he says he can splice into the wires. My question is can the bumper handle the Ranger on a tow dolly?

If your bumper is rated for towing, it will be stamped right on there what it's rated for. I think it's 3500 pounds, but that depends on the year. Best to check and see what's stamped on it.

I thought it was cool too! No joke he really needed to be towed, but i did not do it as I am not set up to tow yet. The bumper says tongue wt 200lbs and trailer wt 2000lbs. With a proper hitch it should tow about 6000 lbs right? 02 auto 3.55 gears

Look at the correct chart for your truck (cab, engine, tranny, etc.) and you'll find the "official" tow rating.

The "Plus" package, introduced in 2002 I think, threw in the fog lights, the tire and handling group (16" wheels, rear sway bar, fender flares), and some other stuff that I can't think of right now for a price slightly lower than the sum of the individual prices.
It was available for Sport and SLT models.

cool i was just curious. I have the slot for the fog lights but no lights. Someday I will cut out the slot and install them. someday.
