I asked at a couple of local shops in my area and they were telling me that the K&N FIPK gen II for '02RT's are not available yet. So I talked to a buddy of mine and he says just buy the '01, it's the same everything and it MIGHT be a little cheaper. Any thoughts?

The design between the 2001 and 2002 changed ever so slightly. The area where the Intake would sit was not changed at all...You should be able to use it. Also, I don't see a reason why you shouldn't be able to use the 2000 model either. The basic placement and design is the same in the engine compartment, only a few minor changes were made between the 2000 and 01/02 models.

Sorry to say, but you can make one yourself cheaper than $95. The biggest part of the K&N system is it replaces the crappy design of the stock airhat.

The KN 57-1517 will fit. I am trying to sell one that I had bought for my RT but didn't install. I'm selling it for $150 if you or anyone else is interested. It's still in the box.

I have a 2002 QC with the 4.7.

Would the K&N FIPK do much for me? I already have a K&N drop in, but I wonder if I should splurge for the FIPK system... thanks
