I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but I have an 01 QC auto 4.7lt and the idle is driving me nutz. In the park position it will idle between 1000 and 1500 rpms, or between 600 to 1000. It will just sit there and bounce back and forth like I'm hitting the gas pedal every couple of seconds. Then, when I'm driving down the highway at a steady speed, my RPMs will be constanlly going up and down by 200-300rpms. Almost like it's trying to downshift but not completely. I know it's not a tranny prob due to the fact that I'm having the idle prob in park. When it's doing this, if I rev the crap out of the engine (just one pump of the gas peddle) it goes back to normal idle and holds fine. If anyone has a solution to this please let me know, it's driving me crazy!!!

Thanks,
Blake

I agree with the TPS, mine was doing the same thing untill I replaced it. Now all is cool.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

That was an exact description of the problem I have been having for the past month or two. I just changed out the TPS and everything is fine - except one thing. Before I was not getting any problem codes. But after disconnecting the sensor, I am getting P0123 - Throttle position sensor voltage high. This was apparently caused by the sensor being disconnected for a time. How do I reset the computer so my check engine light will go off and this code will go away?
