Are most of the 4.7 guys still using the 180 stat or did you go back to the stock 195.
I got a 2k 4.7 with superchips performace setting running 93 oct
and I get a slight ping at around 4000 to 4500 rpm I'am using the stock 195 stat but have a 180 i can put in do U think the 180 might help?

I have a 5.9 with Hypertech tuner. The 180* thermostat really helped the pinging.

I had a 180 but took it out before last winter and still have the 195 in. I had pinging issues with the SC programmer and now am running 93 with the 87 program with no pinging(I tow too). SC`s technical service wants me to send it back but why? I`m getting plenty of timing advance on 87, I figure they will just degrade the towing and perf programs timing and I`ll just get what I`m getting with the 87 program anyway more or less. Too lazy to try putting back the 180,already tried changing plugs from Bosch Plat 4`s(4418)to copper NGK`s.
Rick,if you put in the 180 post if it helped please.
