Subject: No shift from 1rst to 2nd under full-T

Guys and Gals, can anyone please advise as to what might be causing this...

From a standing stop, if I accelerate from FULL THROTTLE the tranny in my 2003 RT will climb up to the REV Limiter and cycle there without shifting to second.

Any other type of operation from light/moderate/heavy throttle is a go if I allow the tranny to shift to second with light to moderate throttle position. Again, if the throttle is to the actual floor, the tranny refuses to shift to second.

The kind of throttle scenario would be if I wished to floor it from a full stop, as if in racing mode. The tranny simply will not shift to second.

Can someone please advise?

Thanks in advance.

A few of us on this site are still dealing with the problem. This specific problem has been post numerous times in the last month.
There are many different answers to the question at hand. 1) it could be the linkage on the throttlebody that can be adjusted for shift firmness and softness, 2) it could be the governor pressure senser,3) it could be just simply changeing your fluid, 4) it could be the valve body, 5) it also could be you PCM, or some stupid senser. The 46RE tranny has this problem of shifting under WOT. Mine has it and i haven't fixed it yet , i just dont have the time, my superchips programmer amplified the problem when i raised the RPM limiter and now when its at stock settings, so i really have to figure this one out.

My suggestion is either take it to the dealer, and hope your waranty covers it,(i know mine will), or take it to a tranny shop and have them fiddle with it,
