My '99 Dakota(5.2,auto)seems to have a shifting problem. Under hard takeoffs it revs all the way until it hits the rev limiter wtihout shifting. To get it to shift you have to let completely off the gas. Is there anyway to fix this problem? Anyone else had this experience? Under regular driving its fine.

i had a simular problem in a ford f150 and just dealt with it and then the fuel pump went and when i replaced the pump the problem went away.

Search the site. There are plenty of threads about this topic. An adjustment of the trans/throttle cable is in order.
