I have a 2004 4.7L Dakota with the 5 spd manual trans. For 2005, non automatic Dakotas will come with a 6 spd manual (which has a lower 1st gear and better gear spacing over the 5 spd).
Anyone know if this is a bolt in replacement if I want to do this swap? It would be costly, and besides the trans I would need the shifter...does anyone know if the 6 spd trans is the same size, length, etc to fit right in without hacking things up or changing the length of the driveline? And will the electrical connection to the trans be the same as the 5 spd and not be problematic? Thanks
