Subject: A/C Problem

Message:
I only recently started using my A/C this year on my '01 4.7L QC 4WD. When I started using it, I noticed that the A/C itself was working intermittently. What I mean is, the air itself flows out of the vents constantly, but sometimes, its very cold, and other times, its the same temperature as the air outside. It'll stay at one or the other for a long while, but it does cut in and out. The light stays on on the A/C controls, but the air itself is what changes. Then, yesterday, I noticed the faint smell of antifreeze coming in through the vents when the fan is on, regardless of whether the A/C itself is on or off. Is the heater core the problem? Will I have to get it replaced? Is that a big deal? Thanks.

i think you should check the pressure in your ac system. it sounds to me like its low on freon. i think its a coincidence that you may have a heater core problem.
