Subject: hypertech or superchips?

which one is "beter"... has more features, more useable for tuning, etc. I am interested in getting a programmer, and they both seem pretty much the same. any major differences? any minor differences? I have an 01 RC R/T, and have the stupid speed and rev limiter, and it is really PI$$ING me off that my truck is still pulling strong at 5200 and it goes nuts, and freaks out at the rev limiter. I'm about to put on a modified intake, and then a cam is in the near future, but first I want to tackle the rev limiter, and tuning is something else I'm after, like the timing advance.
any thoughts? anyone dealt with both types, and have a preference? if you work for a place that sells em, I'd definitely appreciate some professional advice, too!

I've heard great things about the superchips for the R/T. You can try contacting Sam at Socaldakota.com. I know he has run the superchips in the 5.9 for some time.

The commercially available tuners and chips work really well on a stock engine. None are probably much better than the other, as there's only so much you can do with a stock engine.

On a modified engine, you really need to spend the bux on a xustom chip. It's expensive, but you'll get the absolute best performance for your particular set up. But you need to wait until you get all your mods done. If all you want to do now is get rid of the rev limiter, get whatever is cheapest.

I sell and use the Superchips (got one on my 98 CC, basically stock RT).

I also sell and use custom flashes (got one on my 2000 RC, modified RT with heads/cam, etc).

Can do custom flashes for most trucks 1998 up through 2003.

Got all the info on the procedure on my website.

Superchips can be reverted back to stock in about 6 min-- whereas a custom flash must be sent back for a reflash back to stock ($$$). All depends on what you want-- convience or maximum performance.

yeah, I've been checking them out on Socaldakota site and on KRC. the tunable nature has me driven to the programmers, as OCCASIONALLY, maybe once every two years, I end up towing a trailer with a car on it, so I need the availabilty to change for towing. thanks for your input, looking forward to getting one soon!
