 Subject: 3.55 to 3.92 w/ LSD

I want to go with a Salvage Yard complete rear end for My 1999 318 Dak sport 5 speed rear wheel drive. Right now it has a 9.25"(12 bolt) 3.55:1 open diff rear end. I know I could bolt in the 3.92:1 Suregrip rear end from a Dak R/T, but will one from a 1/2 ton full size Dodge work also. Just want to find out what will work before I go shopping at the salvage yards. I'd go after market but then I have to spend over $700 to get lower gears and a LSD unit and I'd have to install it too. This way I get both for less and I just swap rear ends. A friend of mine was going to give me a rear from a van with a suregrip in it, but it was the little 8.25"(10 bolt) rear end.

Ram rear is wider - you need one from same generation Dak, even the Durango has different spring perch width.
