Just thought I'd post in case anyone was interested...I installed a set of Richmond Gear 4.10's in my '04 Dakota. I haven't beat on it yet because I want to give them some time to break in but they are awesome...the truck feels like it should have came this way from the factory. First gear is still usable and highway RPM's are quite reasonable and the speedo still seems to be accurate too. Hope this helps someone. Hopefully I'll have some new track times to post Friday.

Zex nitrous kit (75 shot)
Catback exhaust

4.10 gears

Did you install the gear set yourself? How hard was the install, any special tools? I'v tackled just about everything on a vehicle, but never swapped gears before. Thinking of adding a set to help with towing.

I had a tech from work assist me...only took an hour. You do need a special clamp so you can get the pinion bearing off without destroying it. You also need to have a large torque wrench or breaker bar in order to properly smash the crush collar. Total parts needed besides the ring and pinion gears were the crush collar and pinion seal.
