I'm also running a Magnaflow dual exhaust system on my 4.7 4x4. Mines loud outside but a nice low tone in the inside.
Check out my site for pics and info and of course SOUND!!

I have the stainless MBRP dual catback. It sounds great and i picked up a huge amount of power. the MBRP is the best sounding exhaust that i or my friends here have heard on the street or on the track!!!!!!!!

Stick with the single in and dual out flowmaster. Its better for your motor and exhaust system too. It sounds great, just perfect. True dual exhaust actually restricts a little bit cause the chambers are fighting each other to let the exhaust out. Its been proven in many tests.http://www.speedtweaks.ca/
chack out that web page theres an article in there about that

It all comes down to preference, doesn't it?

Magnaglow, Flowmaster, MBRP, Gibson, Borla... they've each got their own characteristics - good AND bad. Some may be too loud for you, others too expensive - so someone else's choice may or may not be the one for you.

As far as Flowmaster being the "Wal Mart version", well... if that means that they don't have outrageous pricetags attached (unlike at least one of the other brands previously mentioned), then I guess I have no problem accepting that. I personally like the way it makes my 4.7 sound.

After several years with the Gibson cat-back, I recently replaced it with a "Wal Mart" 40-series non-Delta 2-chamber single 2 1/2" inlet (I also chopped off the useless 3rd Calif. cat) and 3" outlet. I like the sound better than the Gibson and it's restored the torque than has been missing since I put the Gibson on. With new "aluminized" pipe from the exhaust manifold, cat removed, muffler, and polished stainless tip exiting through a rollpan cutout (where I wanted it - not where the Mfg. dictates it should go), this system set me back $238.00.... AND I like it.

Also, I'd be fascinated to see the results if anyone has put their truck on a dyno both before AND after installation of ANY of these mufflers. A "huge amount of power" yielded from simply replacing the muffler seems unlikely unless you've already seriously modified your intake and/or your heads, TB, etc.

Begin arguing now, keep me entertained, and for those who feel that $400.00 to $500.00 or more isn't too much to spend on exhaust, perhaps you can leave your wallet open a little longer and consider becoming a paying member this website and help it continue to exist.

Good one Broeheem!

One thing I'd wish people to do is if they don't have "true duals" form the headers back, then DON'T say you have "dual exhaust"!
Call it "Dual Exits".

Now I remember one guy had good headers and true duals a while back and he said it ran like a raped ape over the single. but leaned out a little bit. Not sure how he progressed.

I think Spintech or someone makes an expensive "true dual" exhaust.
I'd prefer to make my own when I get the chance.
I want to make some full length headers first.
Full length header SHOULD make a difference especially if coupled to properly sized duals. I love the sound of "true duals" the 'dual exists' sound "hollow" to me.
