Yes, I am running them in my 98 - 5.2. I've had them in for about 10k now. I tried them because of the comments I read on this board about them. One of the comments was that this plug would reduce the tendancy to ping. That I must say is correct. It will still ping but not as easily as before using thses plugs.

I've ran through at least a couple of sets of these plugs in my 94 Dakota, (148K), and 99 Durango, (136K). Absolutely no complaints. Good wear and never any pinging, (unless I get some really raunchy gas!)

getting before/after ? Thanks, -Mike

I was using whatever DC installed at the factory. Not sure except I believe it was a Champion. I tend to get some real raunchy gas here in California, and the tendancy to ping was pretty great. These plugs took away some of that tendancy. It will still ping but it is only under a real hard pull or while in OD prior to it shifting down to drive under a load.

OOOpppsss Sorry but I didn't respond to your mileage question. I didn't see any difference in mileage readings after changing plugs.

I've had them in mine for about 5000 miles so far.

At the same time as putting those truck plugs in; I changed the rotor, distributor cap and plug wires.

I used the Mopar performance 7.5mm plugs wires with the factory rotor and distributor cap. When doing the plug wires, I rerouted them according to the TSB that addressed the issue of pinging being caused by the wires shorting to each other and the block.

My truck was pinging ALOT before this. After the installation; it was a nite and day difference. It still pings sometimes above 3500 RPM when I've got it floored; but I just live with that.
I still use 87 octane in it; but haven't tried 91+ octane to see if that makes the pinging go away.

I only got the truck 7000 miles ago; so I can't really comment on a change in MPG except that now I'm getting 14.5 to 15.5 mpg in the city and 16 to 18.5mpg on the highway while just following the speed limits.

However, if I just set my cruise at 60mph; my truck gets just over 20mpg.

1999 Dakota Club cab 5.2L 4x4 5 speed 3.55 gears with 31x10.50R15 tires.

Mods are a 40 series Flowmaster muffler(all stock piping) and an Airaid Warm Air intake.

Thanks for all the replys, Sounds like their a good plug to run especialy if pinging problems are
present. I noticed a difference when i went to the
3923's autolites, smoother throughout the whole
powerband and quicker acceleration from the stock
cmampion's my truck came with. The 5.2 seems to like the 3923 autolite's and dyno results show a
4-5 H.P. gain according to canada speed tweaks web site. I'm going to wait a few thousand miles
before I try the new Champion truck plugs, Iv'e
only been running the 3923's for about 20,000
miles now and I like them. Would like to hear from
more people that are running the new Champion truck plugs. Thanks -Mike

4071s did away with the pinging in my '01 Dodge Ram 1500 Magnum. Went to get some more after many miles and no one had them. Had to order them thru a parts house.
