Ordered FLX-31147 (Flex-a-lite Adjust. Temp. Control) from summit racing and can't figure out where the copper wire is suppose to go? Think I read somewhere that its a thermostat bulb?

Yes, it's a temp bulb; similar to the sending end of a mechanical temp gauge. Generally, you can place it in a couple of places. The easiet is to place it in the radiator fins, and then place the frame of the fan behind it. You can also put it inside the upper radiator hose.

.boB is absolutely correct. On my flex-a-lite black magic 150, I had to take a round pin (approx 1/4" dia) and make a hole thru the fins for the bulb sensor. Be VERY VERY careful when doing this as you dont want to slip and pucture the radiator. Good luck!

I'm probably going to do it in the radiator fins, but this wouldn't be as accurate as in the hose? Maybe the hose will do to. Also the unit seems alittle bare, like it should be put in some type of box to protect it from weather.

It has an option for another switch to keep it on all the time which I think i'm going to wire one into my dash somewhere so I can control it easier.

I see that the unit has an adjuster on it. The tube in the fins will be just fine. It worked good for me. The adjustment feature will compensate for the temp difference from the tube either being in the radiator hose or in a cooling fin. What I did was just watch my temp gauge and adjusted the control to my preference. Hope this helps.
