I have a '01 cc 4.7 auto 4x4 SLT loaded.Greatest truck I ever had. I want to more punch in this truck when I get it back on the road(lost license 6 months ago 2 left)So far all I have is the gibson 2.5 dual exhaust.Thinking about adding JBA headers, free flow cat,an msd ignition(DIS-4)and I would've liked to the K&N FIPK,but can't find it for my truck,so I may settle for the airaid.I would also like to maybe try a larger T/B.Is all this seem like a good way to go? Any info greatly appreciated.

Depending on where you live, emissions can be a pain. The third cat is added to the entire production so that they don't have to make separate setups for Non-California Cars. I would assume that most states will still pass if you remove(bypass) the third cat. I plan to bypass and add a Borla muffler for temporary sound enhancement. If you are looking at a high dollar exhaust job, use hi-flow cats, about $100 each to remain legal and still have less restriction. That's what I will most likely do. True duals with hi-flow cats and borlas with a crossover pipe after the cats to balance out the exhaust pulses and mix the sound better. 2.5" pipe with classy tips and a roll pan. Man I can almost picture, sorry got off track. The TB are kinda expensive for the output they give. Headers are a nice item, there is a discussion on the list that the ceramic coating is a must, corrosion resistance and heat retention. At first I thought the 100 option was out of the question, but now it seams reasonable. But for an exhaust, aluminized steel will be fine unless you are exposed to high salt levels. I dunno about the DIS-4, last car I had was fine with stock ignition, only needed one if you were using boost. Also buy a K&N cone for $40 and do a home brew with 3" pipe, really easy, especially if you can pull the filter off of your old car. That was nice. Alright, hope this helps.
