I've searched everywhere I can think to look and can't even find any aftermarket valvecovers for the 4.7L. Anybody know of any dress ups for this motor? Chrome alternator, billet pulleys, anything? I've done a lot of trimming of flashing and polishing of aluminum, but that only goes so far without some chrome sparkling under the hood.

Hunting for replacement valve covers, too.
Unsuccessful. Stock magnesium covers feel thin and cheap.
Dodge service manual cautions against ANYTHING in contact with them or it could wear through.
Please post something if you find some.

Actually, we're looking for replacement valve covers, not OEM ones with a new paint job.
Thanks anyway.

I have no problem with the quality of the stock valve covers. Their light and strong even though they can take NO abrasion. Daimler did a good job of restraining every wire and hose so it doesn't come into contact.

The problem is that they won't polish and their textures surface holds dirt and grime like a sponge.

Pain isn't a bad idea, but how will it hold up on magnesium? What kinda of primer did you use?

I see you also found out how well the ac compressor polishes up. A polishing wheel, a little metal polish and a dremel tool did wonders for mine.

You can polish the magnesium. Get a tub of Mothers Mag & Aluminum polish.

Here's what they look like after a little rubbing.
