I have a 97 dak cc 5.2 with shorty headers, 3" exhaust, k&n intake, helix throttle body, underdrive pulleys, traction bars, basically a bunch of bolt ons. Is it worth it to CAM this sucker? If so, how do you guys recommend doing it and how much could I hire it done for? Oh yeah and what about a shift kit, I'm considering that too.

Any other MODs you guys can think of that I should try next? Right now I can run a 14.8 or .9 in cool weather at basically sea level.

oh yeah and another noobie question, what are "heads" and what exactly does an aftermarket cam do anyway other than open and close differently?

Start with asking around at a local speed shop. After asking your self what you would like to see for results, ie: better towing, street perf., drag strip perf. or what have you. All of these items need to be considered before diving head first into mods.
1st thing I'd do before the cam, the torque convertor.
