Message:
I recently went to get my front alignment done on my 98 dakota and was told my front upper ball joint was badly broken. I know that the recall only account for 2000 and newer vehicles, but I was just wondering if anyone knows the reason for that? Is it because dodge cops-out and says if your vehicle is X amount of years old (with enough miles driven) then it's general wear and tear? In which case my 98 would not be covered?

Second question would be: is there anything short of writting a letter that I can do about it?

Thanks for your help

1998 Dakotas were excluded by NHTSA, but are being further investigated. DC is simply doing what the NHTSA said to do.

Yes, you can write a letter to DC.
