I have a 98 Dakota R/T with a long duration cam and MSD and keep getting codes for not enough vacume and misfire of a sparkplug. I need to get this corrected so I can pass emissions here in GA. Is there a software fix to have the stock computer accept the new paramiters my speed equipmentis making? Any help will be appreciated.

You probably aren't producing enough vacuum @ idle with that cam. Can't you bypass the MSD and bump your idle speed up to get more vacuum @ idle for the emissions testing?

If you're running with aftermarket intake, put the stock setup back on and see if that slight increased restriction will return intake vacuum to something that won't give error codes.

I have bypassed the MSD entirely so it is running on the stock setup. As far as setting the idle up I haven't found a way to increase the idle without it jumping up from arround 600 rpm to 1500rpm. One little touch of the screw and it jumps to 1500 rpm. Reset the computer and drove 30 miles and then took it to emissions and failed because the computer hasen't totaly reset it self. The emission tester said to drive it for a week and retest. This is turning out to be a bit of a hassel. If the check engine light comes on again I will go to have the codes read again. Any other thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

the only thing you can do is replace the non stock long duration cam with the stock one, a long duration cam is not recommended for street use only off road/racing environments. the mis fire is either a bad plug or a bad plug wire. could be other things, but check there first.
